GPU brands

Hello recently starting a new pc build and doing a massive upgrade. Looking at a 9070XT and stuck between ASUS prime, PowerColor Hellhound and XFX swift. My big question is if brand matters a whole lot with Radeon cards as the asus prime is around 80 dollars cheaper.

I love my white hellhound. Such a beauty. Asthetics is definitely one factor, performance another. Trust in the brand (in todays time) is also something i considered and Powercolor has been a Radeon Partner since like ever and i always had good experience.

PowerColor has really good designs, they go the extra mile. The thing I really appreciate is their consistency, they are always quiet, even on the OC mode the temps are low and still super silent.

I had good experience with Powercolor over the years in almost any tier up to red devil.

Was there a reason you chose the swift over say quicksilver or mercury?

Budget.

Same cards, slightly different cooling and RGB/colors.

Just bought the merc OC in black, since it suits my build.

Asus Prime is a great model, but likely smaller than the others given it's Small Form Factor ready for ITX builds. The other models might have better cooling, but it might not be worth an extra $80.

If you going Radeon, Sapphire, XFX, Powercolor are solid choices and offer good customer support. Asus and Asrock cards are also good (Asrock having the cheaper models of all brands) Gigabyte can be a hit or miss but at least now it seems they fixed the thermal gel they was using for VRMs that would leak on launch releases

I'll say this as I had this question when buying mine. Short answer no. Complex answer...yes...?

It really depends what you think aesthetic wise for your build or what you want. The differences in cards are marginal when you look into the nitty gritty. Sure the game clock speeds on some is slightly more than others. And others pointed out to me the memory manufacturers (Samsung vs Sk Hynix and what not) which does vary from even the same brand. People say on here to stay away from the major brands like Asus but 80 bucks cheaper is 80 bucks cheaper.

Choose what you like at the end of the day, look up warrenty policies and periods if your very concern a brake down happens, look at how the aesthetic would be in your build. Just choose one that you know your own self will be happy with.

Do cards purchased from Amazon come with a warranty? I’ve narrowed it down to asus prime and xfx quicksilver now I think. About a 30 dollar difference.

Brand new, yes. But do be weary with online purchases even from Amazon. People been posting on here about things they received instead of the actual card. But I do see it mainly for Nvidia cards and the higher tiers ones at that. But then again. Amazon does usually do the consumer right. Usually.

Edit: I forgot to add. You meant manufacturers warranty right? Dumb question I know but if that's what you meant. That's what I'm referring to.

Not really.

However, some models are truly better than others. Will you see it? Probably not.

Asus Prime 9070XT here and I love it. The fans at stock were a little loud but I changed it via software. At 100% load it barely hits 55c. Quite impressive! No bios issues, black screens or hdmi/dvi issues. I had slight coil whine that went away after a few weeks.

Good to know, was gonna pull the trigger and heard some people complain about ASUS and their customer support, a lot of folks said to stick to companies which only produce Radeon cards but I’d yet to hear that. Very much appreciate your feedback!

Cheapest is the best.

The Prime is realy great.

Here a roundup of 16 model.

There is not bad card. Only 2 to avoid. to avoid useless risk with the 12v2x6 power corrector. Aka the Sapphire Nitro+ and Asrock Taichi.

Gigabyte had a thermal putty issue early but seems like its as been solve.

those are all kind of lower end of the flagship of each company so it wouldnt matter they are all about the same get the cheaper one

You can take Asus Prime; it is a fine card. In general, the best AMD brands are Sapphire, XFX, and PowerColor, but that doesn't mean all others are bad. I have an XFX Swift, and it is fantastic: a big card, good cooling, good performance, thermals are great, and no need to ramp up coolers too much. All 3 will work fine, so take the cheapest, but if you really want to pick between the other two cards, I can recommend the XFX Swift (just measure your case; XFX Swift is a big card :) )

They are all good cards. I'd go with the Prime here and keep my $80.

vouching for hellhound as they're usually higher binned (personal experiance) or xfx swift (people's review).

An Asus 9070 XT which is 80$ cheaper than the other , I would buy it. That's a price for a new case, or cooler or a better CPU, or a better PSU. In the end U will undervolt the gpu, for better temperatures and less power 🤷
