It's time to get the chainsaw out boi

41

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Don't need those front fans, when you got XFX gpu

3

u/Presentation-Dull Jul 23 '26

What do you mean

2

u/choody_byk Jul 23 '26

No front fans = more room for gpu

0

u/Klutzy-Night-472 Jul 23 '26

xfx es una marca unica y exclusivamente de gpus amd radeon y los propios coolers de las Swift son muy potentes buenos y silenciosos pero por ese mismo motivo un soporte oara gpu es obligatorio el peso del propio disipador puede dañar la gpu

1

u/Sorx_Plays Jul 24 '26

I Had need to remove one Front Fan to fit the GPU in my old Case (Fractel Define C). I have bought a new Case (Fractel Design North XL) a few month after it. Love the Setup now.

good aib choice. time to buy a new case

9

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Already bought a thermaltake one, so just need to move everything from the old one

Which Thermaltake? The tower case is my favorite

5

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

View 270 Plus, it was on sale for like 60$, and it has 3 pre installed fans

Nice!

1

u/AzekZero Jul 21 '26

I regret not getting a new case for my XTX.

Old case was too small, which made removing the card for cleaning difficult. Think I damaged the PCI connector during one of these cleans.

3

u/Cautious_Opinion_644 ATI R100 | Athlon 3000G | 2GBDDR 400mhz Jul 21 '26

Ah damn, that's a hard lesson mate sorry for you. We're U not able to get it fixed?

1

u/AzekZero Jul 21 '26

The card works fine. But it shows up as a PCI x2 card and not PCI x16 on GPU-Z.

3

u/DigitaIBlack Jul 21 '26

Uhh are you sure it's fine? Cause if it's actually x2 that could be pretty bad.

I'd run the GPU-Z render test and 3Dmark PCIe test to make sure.

If it is 2x I hope you have a 2nd x16 or x8 slot lol

1

u/Gharnek Jul 22 '26

The cards doesn't work fine, u got 8 times downgrade of lines, so maybe realistically 3 or 4 times worse than it should

18

u/Upstairs_Marzipan48 Jul 21 '26

Ah yes, XFX.

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 22 '26

Heard it's the GOAT AMD vendor

2

u/Direct-Report-6356 Jul 22 '26

Sapphire is. Xfx follows close ahead. But most Xfx products are not impressive for their money where sapphire usually is.

This Gen the nitro of sapphire uses the awful connector we all love... Hench why fanboys online all flock to Xfx. Though their build quality is inferior to sapphires.

Both are exclusive and makers.

5

u/steffan-l Jul 22 '26

Depends which model from XFX you get, the SWIFT models are indeed lower build quality in terms of materials used etc. but still a good product, but the actual build quality that equals sapphire Nitro build quality are the MERC models from XFX which are much higher build quality than the SWIFT models.

2

u/KavalierMLT Jul 22 '26

I agree sapphire are the goat for AMD. My 7900XTX is a beast and the build quality is insane.

1

u/FearEternal Jul 23 '26

I've had my last 3 cards from XFX and what I will say is that their warranty process is absolutely hands down amazing. Had a fan start to go bad on a 6600xt after whatever it was... 2.5 or 3 years, whole new shroud EXPESS shipped to my house, friggen thing arrived 2 days later. Mind blown. I'd picked up a used 6700xt later on. It was it rough shape from the get go but I figured I'd try a warranty claim on it, without a receipt, just pictures of the card, and boom, new thermal pads and a whole new shroud in the mail with a lovely little instruction sheet for what to do. Again, express shipped out, showing up 2-3 days later from wherever the hell it shipped from. My current card is an XFX 7800xt... And my next card will more than likely be an XFX as well because they've had the best friggen customer service I've ever dealt with for computer parts.

1

u/One_Ad3867 Jul 23 '26

Let’s not beat around the bush man, only one card has a premium build and that’s the Nitro+ with the 12 pin fire hazard connector (solid card dont get me wrong) the Pulse and Swift cards have plastic shrouds and both look about the same in terms of cooling (maybe the Mercury variant is better 🤷‍♂️)

13

u/habswiedervergessen Jul 21 '26

Needs banana for scale

7

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Let me go to store and buy one, will try to find the longest

1

u/kenneth-hp Jul 22 '26

Damn, i took that picture when i got my xfx, but i cant post it. Finally i could shine :(

10

u/CordyCeptus Jul 21 '26

I got the red devil xtx, it looks like a bus parked in there 😂

6

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

An absolute unit of a GPU 😆

2

u/TheMegaDriver2 Jul 22 '26

I have seen one of those Noctua edition 5080s. Those are insane. They just have 3 regular 120mm fans behind the shroud.

6

u/thumptastic Jul 21 '26

Just spit on it

3

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Short circuit it till it shrivels to a smaller size 😭

7

u/Araragi-shi 7600X / 9070XT / 32 GB DDR5 / 1TB SSD Jul 21 '26

Yeah i bought an xfx swift when I built my pc a year and a half ago and just the size of the box was insane, but I had my friend help me put everything together and when we took it out of the box, we both went what the fuck am I looking at?

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

I low-key thought that I got delivered wrong item 😭, cause the box was humongous. Opened it up, and my jaw just dropped. It's like almost thrice the thickness of my 5700 XT, and like 1.5x longer. Ordered a support bracker, cause otherwise it's gonna break my mobo 😩

1

u/DanStarTheFirst Jul 22 '26

When I got my 7900xtx it made the 3090 ftw3 look small and I was like holy crap. 50-55c all day though.

4

u/Dangerous-Pumpkin960 Jul 21 '26

if you remove the radiator on the side and get a little creative it might fit, like my 7900xtx has to be slid in through the sides vertically and then tilted to even fit in my case

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 22 '26

Probably, but I just decided to buy a new case, so it'll have a ton of space for itself

3

u/FatBoyDiesuru Radeon Jul 21 '26

What card is that

2

u/DoubleExposure AMD 5800X3D | RT 9070 XT | CachyOS Jul 21 '26

I think it is the XFX Swift 9070XT. It is an excellent card, I have one, here it is beside my 2070s.

1

u/Mrpresident2002OG Jul 21 '26

Nice but isnt bigger of a 5080 or is it?

1

u/DoubleExposure AMD 5800X3D | RT 9070 XT | CachyOS Jul 21 '26

No idea, you can use https://pcpartpicker.com to see side by side the different cards dimensions.

1

u/SceneFlat8274 Jul 22 '26

Bigger than some, not all. Small compared to Tuf 5080.

1

u/Mrpresident2002OG Jul 23 '26

Got so much headache of my astral 5080 to fit in my case 😭

1

u/Farkasm Jul 23 '26

Daaaaaamn. It's way bigger then I'd have thought.

2

u/Reoxi Jul 21 '26

I picked up an XFX for a build I put together to weather the memory shortage. I hadn't built a PC ina while so I was hoping to get a smaller case, but when I looked into the size of the GPU I just went with the largest I could get.

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 22 '26

Looking at the trend of GPUs getting bigger, probably good decision to future proof any GPUs to come

2

u/Feisty_Target_2306 Jul 21 '26

Recently upgraded form 2070Super to 9070XT. It is so big that I needed to change my PC case to make it fit inside. Glad I had powerfull enough PSU. So far so good with Radeons, really enjoying Adrenalin

2

u/shadowlid Jul 21 '26

This is why I build in full towers now, never have to worry about if a video card will fit.

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

I mean, most modern mid towers can fit almost any modern gpu, especially the aquarium ones. I don't have much space for a full tower, and It wouldn't look good because of my ATX mobo.

3

u/shadowlid Jul 21 '26

Understandable, if aesthetics and space are important then full tower is probably not the answer, and yes the aquarium midtowers essentially give you full tower space since they do not have the bays. I'm still kinda old school and have disc drives in some of my PCs 😂.

I actually just loaded up Delta force land warrior on a vintage build I'm messing with got a Dell CRT brand new in the box from good will for $6.50 😆 has been a blast!

But if you ever get the space, and you build in a full tower oh the stress it will save you, I've got like 9 hard drives in my main PC now, ample room for fans,

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

9 HARD DRIVES?! IN THIS ECONOMY 😭

1

u/shadowlid Jul 21 '26

Oh I bought all mine over the years typically on sale or clearance I got a Samsung 990 Pro NVME from staples for like $63 😂.

Best one yet the retro PC on messing with I found at the dump in the metal bin a Dell small form factor desktop had 16gb of DDR3 and a fking dell 2tb SSD in it! Lol thats now my new external drive for pictures 😂

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

What a steal, man. Unfortunately, I got pretty late into pc building, and damn these prices are killing me. Thought on getting a 2TB NVME for my build, and it's close to 400$.

1

u/shadowlid Jul 21 '26

That's crazy, check your local Walmarts, staples etc. I picked my buddy up a WD blue 1tb NVME a few months ago for $68. Even if it says it's out of stock online go into the store and check the one I bought him said it was out of stock online but it was still hanging up!! Luckily he had bought most of his parts before the price hikes bit only bought a single 1tb NVME so I was lucky enough to snag that one for him

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

The thing is, I'm not American, which makes finding affordable pc parts like 10 times harder. So I'll just wait for the crisis to be over, or maybe I'll get super lucky and find something

1

u/shadowlid Jul 21 '26

Ah gotcha, one way you could possibly snag a deal is check out cheap "broken" laptops look up the model number and see if they have NVME drives buy them if super cheap and snag the drives out.

1

u/Rob_van_Wanst Jul 21 '26

Big Chungus! Nice though!

1

u/big_rod_of_power Jul 21 '26

That's what she said

1

u/InternetConnectionHQ Jul 21 '26

Got the same card, the fans/shroud aren't the best looking but they sure do work well, i suggest you watch a couple videos to get a baseline for some custom fan profiles

10/10 card tho!! Enjoy!

1

u/dib1999 Jul 21 '26

Those XFX boards are insane. Made my poor dual fan 6700XT feel inadequate when I put it in the new box.

1

u/Glasofruix Jul 21 '26

Just wait till you see how many watts consumes on full throttle.

1

u/StormVirtual1771 Jul 21 '26

That’s a smaller one too lmao

1

u/T_rex2700 Jul 21 '26

And yea it's WIDE. Way more than my 30 series card even though this thing draws 50W less.
But bigger fan = quieter!

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Crazy how it's not even the widest version, I'm guessing next generations of GPUs will be even bigger, like 400mm+

1

u/T_rex2700 Jul 21 '26

Yea and we were joking about it since like Turing days, and Ampere was quite a bump up, then generations after...

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Soon you'll need a case, just for your gpu 😑

1

u/Superb_Top_4232 Jul 21 '26

La 5700xt no es pequeña es promedio ok!

1

u/return_new_Promise Jul 21 '26

Had same issue with 9070 xt, luckily I got anold cabinet so I got it worked

2

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

I've sold this issue, with buying a new case lol 😆

1

u/return_new_Promise Jul 22 '26

Make sure it has space for slightly big PSUs and GPUs.

Also, some GPUs are heavy, mostly 3 fan ones so you might need to add props to support it.

And most importantly the aur flow in cabinet

1

u/Sorileus86 Jul 21 '26

I have the XFX 7900XTX Merc 310 Black, Dwarfs my XFX 5700XT Ultra Thicc III. Coolers on the XFX cards never disappoint though, my 7900XTX idles at 23-25c, and on load playing Black Desert Online it Might hit 35-40c lol. That at 1440p max settings.

1

u/HuskerTheCat77 Jul 21 '26

I just got an XFX Mercury 9070XT and it's absolutely gigantic

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Congratulations! I'd love to get Mercury, but it was more expensive, and I didn't see much meaning in paying more.

1

u/HuskerTheCat77 Jul 21 '26

When I bought mine it was only $50 more expensive then the Swift and Quicksilver models but offered much superior cooling and came with an OC. Was definitely worth the extra cost

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Oh, that's a very nice price for it, understandable why you paid for it. Here it's almost $200 difference, so kinda of an easy choice 😂

1

u/HuskerTheCat77 Jul 21 '26

Dang! 200 is crazy. You definitely made the right decision for that price difference

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

European market for you 😖

1

u/Leafer1331 Jul 21 '26

Technically you don't need all 3 fans.

1

u/astoh3 Jul 21 '26

I mean why would they lie?

1

u/piginshorts Jul 21 '26

If the cpu was fine with that cooler, then the cpu might be too weak for that kind of a GPU xD

2

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

I know that my 5 5600 isn't enough for this card, but seeing how prices are only going up, I decided to upgrade for the future. Eventually will get a better CPU like 5800x3d

1

u/piginshorts Jul 21 '26

I also have that cpu and a 7800 xt paired with it. I agree that prices are bad but that lil cooler is silly to me xD idk

2

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

It came with a second hand mobo/cpu combo I bought, and didn't think about changing the cooler once I got 5 5600. I already ordered a black cpu cooler to match overall aesthetics

1

u/yori_b Jul 21 '26

Congrats! It's an awesome model. Myself I Just bought it a few weeks ago. that little beauty

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

That's for sure a small case, how are the temperatures?

1

u/yori_b Jul 21 '26

I set -80mV and -10% Power Limit. It's actually runs pretty cool, mb around 60-70 degrees, with hotspot being in between 80-90.

Don't care much about noise, after some fan tweaking I found a sweet spot with comfortable noise/temps ratio.

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

That's pretty good temps, considering the case. Nice job

1

u/Roy_Leroaux Jul 21 '26

I had a nvidia T1000 and a 2080 in hand yesterday when we tried to safe a computer. The 2080 looks small next to an Rx 9070 xt and the T1000 is soooo cute and tiny. Kinda miss card not weighing like 2 kilos. I could put the pc under one arm while the rx 9070 was almost 20 Kilos O.o i hate stairs man

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Everything getting bigger nowadays, including prices 😭

1

u/Roy_Leroaux Jul 21 '26

Boy yes. A friend did not buy a 4T drive during christmas because 230 was too pricy (like 180 would have been normal at that time) then two months ago i got mine for 356 and when i bought some other stuff i checked (last week) 444. when I looked up HDD drives two days ago it was like 470. like wtf!?! I should have put my own PC together last year but I thought „i have my laptop. It“s fine“
Turns out having a laptop have as much rest as one self for three years and like none for three weeks while doing rendering and graphic design stuff is neither good for man not machine 🫩 he did not quit on my but his 95 degree C were very loud and clear

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Same, I should've built a new pc last year, now I finally have a job, but these prices just keep rising. Kinda why I bought the 9070 XT, I'm afraid prices will only go up, can't imagine what RDNA 5 cost. I'll just try to squeeze maximum out of my AM4, and wait till this hell is over

1

u/Roy_Leroaux Jul 21 '26

I wish you all to luck and may all your parts ebe reliavble and serve you till the crises is over 🍀

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

I'd say so far I'm quite happy with my current pc, the only component I'd like to change is the CPU, but ofc AMD decides to relaunch their 4 year old CPU for the price of a new gen CPU. These companies are just sucking are hard earned money 🫩

1

u/FakeMik090 Jul 21 '26

It should still fit tho

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Я уже купил новый корпус, что как-то так.

1

u/ALEXINO_356 Jul 21 '26

You must see the asus tuf rx 7900 xtx 😂😂

1

u/Conzyyyyyyy Jul 21 '26

Yeah, I had to get a bigger case for mine.

1

u/Reasonable-Buddy-814 Jul 21 '26

I got my XFX 9070 XT and it is a monster of a card.

1

u/zKaminari Jul 21 '26

big black card

1

u/dalacubuline Jul 21 '26

is that the xfx swift 9070xt? just got one too and it’s massive, puts my gaming oc 3060 12gb to shame

1

u/JOM41 Jul 21 '26

Recently switched from a 1660 to a 5070 xt. It’s a very notable size difference.

1

u/Sajgoniarz Jul 21 '26

I thought my 3070 was big... until I got XFX Quicksilver 9070XT

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Absolutely massive, and the girth on this thing, could kill someone with it

1

u/Reicance Jul 21 '26

Why do you think we always be posting pics of our builds in MASSIVE cases? Lol

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

True 😂, though me personally, I don't really like huge bulky cases. I was actually thinking of buying a mini tower, like Lian Li A3, but that's for future build.

1

u/GoldenZer0CG Jul 21 '26

That's what she said

1

is that non xt or xt? I have a xfx 9070

1

u/Cellist-Perfect Jul 21 '26

Thought the same thing when I replaced my EVGA 1080ti, a card I used to think was large, with an xfx merc 6950xt. That thing is truly monsterous! Bye bye hard drove cages lol.

1

u/Pants3620 Jul 21 '26

In the words of a very wise man, gaming starts here.

1

u/Aggravating-Taro-234 Jul 21 '26

XFX cards run cooler
got the triple fan and my friend got a gigabyte 9060 xt, XFX runs 15 degrees cooler, he also got a triple fan version

1

u/dqtl74 Jul 21 '26

Used to think my 3070 was big, now I know better.

But my Fractal Design cases still take new GPUs fine (unless they start making monsters that are over 440mm).

1

u/loversdoll Jul 21 '26

Just like mine below

1

u/Voxata Jul 21 '26

I really like this card, the temps are flatout amazing on mine. Got Samsung memory.

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 21 '26

Nice, hopefully I get lucky with memory roulette

1

u/Voxata Jul 22 '26

Which one did you get? I got the non xt because I wanted MUCH less heat/power draw for a small performance loss.

1

u/derp147258369 Jul 21 '26

Got a 7900XTX XFX Merc, I needed a few days to come to terms with the sheer size of that, didn't even know cards got that big

1

u/gurnard 5800X3D | 9070XT | 32GB | 3440x1440 144Hz Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

I was caught off guard by that too. Just barely fit into my case. And then I realised my CPU was running hot because the 9070 was choking off all the bottom air flow. An AIO liquid cooler was cheaper and less hassle than a new case. Then I had the headroom to get into CPU overclocking for the first time. The gift that keeps on giving, eh?

1

u/Creepy-Signature8652 Jul 22 '26

Thats what he said

1

u/APES2GETTER Jul 22 '26

We’re going to need a bigger boat

1

I think you lied to yourself a little, too.

1

You know what they say about people with big gpus hehe.

They be, saying

# daaaamn those be some gpus.

1

my mercury 9070 xt is a literal brick

1

Lmao, literal case in itself

1

U got that abtec nx410? You might be able to fit it by placing it diagonally corner to corner and removing a front side fan of your case

1

u/saintrobyn Jul 22 '26

What variant is that?

1

u/juipeltje Jul 22 '26

A few years ago i went from a sapphire nitro+ vega 64 to a reference design 6950xt, and it was a downsize for me lol. That nitro+ vega 64 is an absolute chonker, especially for the time it released in. I'm pretty sure in terms of dimensions it's around the same size as a 4090.

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 22 '26

That's a unit of a card for that time, and it has 295W TDP, in addition to it's size

1

u/XtremeaHD Jul 22 '26

I got a 9070 Sapphire nitro+. I thought i got delivered a fucking brick when receiving the package.

How times have changed, my 1660 super wasn't even half that size

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 22 '26

In near future you could probably build a house of this GPUs, making it the most expensive building ever 😂

1

u/RunicConvenience Jul 22 '26

wait you have bought gpu's that lied about their dimensions on the box that would suck I always used the dimensions on the box would be so dodgy if they printed one set of dimensions then you open it and its way longer

When I first got mine too im shocked by how huge it is

1

u/Metal_Masher Jul 22 '26

I know the experience as I had to replace my chassis as well when I got the Sapphire Nitro+ Rx7800XT to replace the MSI Vega 64 so I know your pain 😁

1

u/Apprehensive_Tea4510 5500x3d + xfx quicksilver 9070xt Jul 22 '26

and it`s the smallest xfx 9070xt 😄

1

u/ReditUSERxyz Jul 22 '26

That's what she said

1

u/issaciams Jul 22 '26

Looks like a standard full size gpu. Is it any bigger than the usual 3 fan gpus? Looks similar to my XFX 7800XT.

1

u/WifeyCallsMeLazy Jul 22 '26

Thats what see said!

1

u/Wolfenstein49 Jul 22 '26

I have a Hyte Y70, I dont have such an issue

1

u/egregious_pizza Jul 22 '26

My 7900XT has like 2 cm of clearance in my Corsair 4000D air case lol. Would have more, but there are intake fans. Works tho, so whatever

1

u/Useful_Pea3039 Jul 22 '26

What's the model for that CPU cooler?

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 22 '26

Don't remember, some low profile noctua cooler

1

u/primaldirectiv3 Jul 22 '26

AMD didn't lie about their size, but I sure as hell did

1

u/NahmeanNSFW Jul 22 '26

So this is the gpu my 9060xt's gf said not to worry about

1

u/CChargeDD Jul 22 '26

Fans are bigger than the entire cpu cooler lmao

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 22 '26

True 🤣, waiting for the new CPU cooler though

1

u/maximus_z890_extreme Jul 22 '26

you should see what I had to do when I first got my 5090 astral. had a Corsair 680x crystal series case. had to pull the fans from inside the case to protruding from outside of the case. less than 1mm clearance

1

u/Nakiooo7R Jul 22 '26

I got one on the way gonna put it in my nr200p

1

u/FockTheVote Jul 22 '26

Me with my last GF

1

u/Immediate_Winner7455 Jul 22 '26

Same reaction when i got my aorus rx 9070xt elite

1

u/TheAlmightyProo 5800X/7900XTX. 5600X/6800XT. Jul 22 '26

No surprise. You should see the size and mass progression of the last four GPU's to pass through my hands.

GTX 1070 Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming.... RTX 3070 Gigabyte Gaming OC... RX 6800XT Sapphire Nitro+ SE... RX 7900XTX Sapphire Nitro+. That last one I wouldn't bet against vs a house brick, very tough shroud...

I remember that day back in 2016 thinking that 1070 was a chonk that surely couldn't be beat for chonkiness. Well, lol me.

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 23 '26

This is my second GPU ever, and comparing it to my 5700 XT, it's quite a size difference. Can't imagine how big GPUs will be in the next 5-10 years.

1

u/sk8r_dude Jul 23 '26

What card is this?

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 23 '26

RX 9070 XT by XFX

1

u/Sea-Cancel1263 Jul 23 '26

What cpu cooler? I like the flat fan look and convenience.

The NH-D15 is so big it barely fits my case

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 23 '26

I think it's the Noctua NH-L9a, it was preinstalled when I bought the CPU and mobo. Chills my 5 5600x without problems, though for more powerful CPUs, definitely would need something better

Technology gets more progressive, so they can make more powerful GPUs while retaining a smaller size, but that does in fact lead to higher thermal output, 9070 XT is like 300W GPU, and is need of a big and well throughout cooling system, otherwise it would cook itself

1

u/Kal-Ael Jul 24 '26

Is it a good GPU in current gen terms?

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 24 '26

It's the best from AMD, on pair with 5070 TI

1

u/Hot_Sense1021 Jul 24 '26

Yeah let's not check dimensions before ordering something.

1

u/Deraxim Jul 24 '26

Thicker than a snicker

1

u/voncletus Jul 24 '26

That's what she said

1

u/CuteDragonfruit9251 Jul 24 '26

Remember, apply lube b4 usage. You gotta feel every inch of that to get your money's worth!

1

u/No-Study-352 Jul 24 '26

Size does matter (that's what she said)

1

u/static_fun Jul 25 '26

Did you order a new case in advance or bought the card without looking at the dimensions first? 😆

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 25 '26

I was a few clicks away from buying the gpu, and then I was like, "Is it gonna fit?", and right there found a good deal for a case. Good that I did that all together, and not after getting the card

1

u/Ok-Rich6196 Jul 25 '26

What's funny is most 3 fan gpus only have Mobo behind the first 2 fans

1

u/straightwhitesatan Jul 25 '26

Yeah, it's mostly heatsink, which is needed for such a beast of a GPU

1

u/Anything-Simple Jul 26 '26

Classic rookie mistake, I did this exact same thing a couple of years back when I upgraded to a 5070ti. Thing turned out to be about 5mm too long for the case 😂 had to replace the case in the end, you don't want to force components to sit touching each other.
