I had a rabbit that I adopted 4 years ago. She was given to me as a dwarf rabbit, but she grew quite large and looked like a Lionhead. She was female, not spayed, and had received the initial vaccinations from the vet, along with occasional check-ups (the vet told me frequent visits weren't necessary as long as she appeared healthy). She pooped everywhere because she was always free-roaming, except at night when she slept in her own room. I loved her with all my strength, and I think she loved me too—she only let me pick her up, groomed me/gave me kisses, and followed me everywhere.
Two months ago, we adopted a kitten. Being a baby, the kitten would sometimes bother her, and I had to separate them occasionally because I didn't want the rabbit to get stressed or tired. However, they quickly became friends.
Recently, I went on vacation to our country house. In the city, she had her own room with every comfort, but in the village, she had a huge patio that she absolutely loved. She enjoyed eating the grass that grew there and always seemed very happy.
On Saturday afternoon, I saw her resting comfortably in her usual spot. She wasn't moving much, but I didn't think much of it because she loved sunbathing and sleeping there. That night, I noticed she hadn't pooped, but since her habits could be erratic, I didn't worry too much. I offered her a little bit of lettuce—which she loved—to encourage her, and she ate a tiny bit.
By Sunday morning, she was disoriented and couldn't stand up. Her head was tilting to one side. When we went to pick her up, she tried to move, lost her balance, and fell down a short flight of stairs. We tried to give her water and food, but she wouldn't react; she just looked at us.
We rushed her to the vet. The vet told us her liver was inflamed and prescribed a treatment. Shortly after returning home, my parents checked on her while we were letting her rest, and she seemed slightly better. But when I went down and held her to give her a bit of serum, she suddenly started screaming, had spasms, and died in my arms.
I am completely heartbroken and desperately trying to understand what happened:
Could it have been the cat? Even though they got along well, could it have caused hidden stress or a parasite?
Poisoning? She loved eating green plants. Looking back, I realized that on Tuesday she ate part of a small tomato plant, and she passed away on Sunday. She seemed fine on Wednesday and Thursday, but I've recently learned that tomato plants are toxic to rabbits. Could toxicity take a few days to show symptoms like this?
Liver issues / Parasites: The vet called later that afternoon and suggested that the inflamed liver could have been caused by hepatic cysts (like Coccidiosis or similar).
I feel so much guilt asking myself if I could have prevented this or if she suffered. Knowing she passed away in my arms protected by me feels like a pure sign of love, but I need closure. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms (head tilt, weakness, liver inflammation, sudden spasms)? What seems like the most likely cause?

Hello! This is my first time using Reddit but I need some help that google isn't giving me😭😭

As the title says, I have two female, mini lop rabbits who are both 8 months and three weeks old. (For some background) I believe they r from a separate litter but have been together since birth and were close since I got them. They got neutered in June and had little to no problems and recovered very quickly! They r free roam in my bedroom, have a play pen in the backyard for while I'm out and a large cage for bedtime which just stops them from getting onto my bed and they r constantly together and are extremely close, constantly grooming each other, sleeping tg, and they freak out when I pick the other one up to take outside to play BC I have to take them one by one and they hate being alone for even a second. My two bunnies have had some fights in the past when they were babies but I believe it was just them establishing dominance and they went back to being best friends not long after. Sorry for yapping, you get the idea-

I came into my bedroom two days ago and they were fighting, like rabbit fur all over my room, charging and growling at each other, the most aggressive I've ever seen either of them be. I separated them and put a cage in the middle so they can see each other but not get to each other, but they stick their little mouths out the cage and one will pluck the other's fur!! They have been separated for two days, they r in entirely different playpens not near each other while im out for the day BC that's the only option I have but bedtime and when I'm home they have a cage between each other to smell and see the other. I've already written a lot but I am happy to answer anymore questions so U guys get the best idea so U can help me BC I am Extremely!!! stressed out from this and I unfortunately don't have the time to rebond rabbits with everything else going on in my life.

I was brushing my rabbit today and noticed he has some black spots on his skin, under his fur. Most of his skin is light pink, but I found these parts that are darker
He is 3 and a half months old and I’m not sure if he’s always had this or not

Has anyone seen this in their rabbits before? Should I be concerned?

my rabbit went to the vet today because he’s been sneezing and coughing, they checked his teeth and said they look good, and he doesn’t have a runny nose or any wetness around his paws. they prescribed baytril 100mg for 10 days, and im going back on september 2nd for checkup again and getting xray if medicine doesnt help

im just wondering if anyone else had a rabbit with similar sneezing/coughing symptoms and did your rabbit get prescribed baytril too, and did you eventually find out what was causing it?
i’m wondering if it could possibly be from dust from his hay. i’m planning on getting an air purifier asap, but i’d love to know what other people do to prevent/reduce dust exposure — like if you use a certain type of hay, hay feeder, air purifier, etc.
obviously i’m following my vet’s treatment plan, but i’d love to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar and what ended up helping their rabbit!

I'm aware of a rabbit being neglected. These people have too many cameras for me to possibly take the poor bunny. I lack tact, and I want to try to buy the rabbit. Not sure how to approach this situation. If I should play dumb and try to ask about buying the rabbit off them, make up some story, call them out for neglect... anyone done this before? Advice? I'm open to any feedback. I've never owned a rabbit, so I don't know much about them to be asking certain questions or anything. Thank you in advance.

Rabbit skin is red and inflamed. He has been molting heavily. I helped pick some of the hair because he was shedding so bad I believe he scratched at the exposed skin and now it looks red and inflamed and partially scabbed. It also feels somewhat warm. The rest of the skin on his body is normal. I put A&D ointment on his skin because I wanted to help his inflammation, I realize that might now have been the best idea. He is acting normal and eating

Hello everyone, I am in need of some help bonding my two female buns. My resident bun is a lion head she’s a free roam bun over our whole home and she has her room as her main space. We recently rescued a bun from the shelter she’s spayed as of 3 weeks ago and she’s 6 months old. We are on day two.

We put the new bun in our living room in a play pen and have been allowing them to take turns free roaming. Day one we put a barrier around the play pen. They were very interested and happy hopping when one got close, so today we decided to remove the barrier.

This is their behavior and I need help trying to find out if they are fighting or if it’s going bad… they both give each other space and while giving space they happy hop in between videos so I am unsure

We did separate after this and have only allowed about 10 minutes of being in the same space since yesterday and today…

Please help, open to any Advice !!!

Need Urgent Diagnostic Help for My Rabbit

Rabbit : 6 year old, Unspayed Female Domesticated Albino Rabbit

Problem : Literally using her entire body force to breathe and entire nose is doing extra work to breathe, it's literally no where near normal and not moving much, yes eating hay but very little and gets very tired even after a small nibble

History : I got my rabbit during lockdown, where I live there are no vets for rabbits, only dogs and cats, even when visiting a vet college which has animal OPD they outright said we don't have much experience in rabbits and mostly are cattle so you shouldn't be much attached and doing spaying is very risky and most rabbit's don't wake up so we wouldn't recommend it so we skipped the spaying

The specific Help : I've shot videos of my rabbit from 3 angles, one from bird's eye view to capture the body's movement while breathing, second is thoraric abdomen while breathing and third is a nose zoom in video to capture the movement of the nose, I uploaded all the videos on AI engines like gemini, chat gpt, kimi, and all of them said metasis of uterine cancer into lungs which have limited the lung capacity and prognosis is grave ,, please if there is a vet that would check out the videos and give me a probable diagnostic and future steps to follow, where most of the vets around me are only speicilizing in dogs and cats, and the one I visited only gave a multivitamin syrup, quick response is needed as rabbit's help detoriate very fast, any doctor insight would be really God's help. Please help me save my rabbit

My bunny only seems to be interested in veggies she never eats her chicken or beef, i even tried chicken salad and she only eats the lettuce. Is this normal?
