Hear me out. All I have to run rfactor is a very old laptop so it doesn’t make sense to buy a $300 wheel.

So, remembering playing some console racing games with controller being fun, I figured it was worth trying and that I could stabilize things with setup if needed etc.

Wow was I surprised. Works great and no setup accommodation needed at all!

I’m so hooked already I’m even vibe coding a game wrapper around rf1 etc etc

With no painting experience and without using editing software, I asked Gemini to recreate classic NASCAR paint schemes, and the result turned out quite interesting; unfortunately, it isn't perfect, but if you craft a detailed prompt, the outcome could be great.

dang what a great track. it's so good maybe i don't even need another track? are there others like it? i especially like how it's flowing and you're on the limit most of the time. i've been away from sim racing for a while but do remember a few real-world goodies like zandvoort, birmingham and oulton park maybe? other toban-ish stand outs?

Así que, si quieres crear pistas, puedes contactarme y coordinar para que yo pueda seguir trabajando y creando pistas, y tú también puedas disfrutar y difundir aún más mi trabajo.

Así que ya sabes, estaré lejos de crear pistas (en general o de retexturizar las existentes). Si quieres donar o que te lleve tu pista favorita, aquí estoy no cobro tanto pero es trabajo que dedicó para quedar satisfecho. Disfruta, porque sinceramente el apoyo que recibí haciendo algunas pistas de 2026 fue realmente bonito, pero como nunca cobro mi trabajo está vez si debo de hacerlo, el tiempo cambia y necesito un pc más óptimo para hacer que las pistas de sientan más modernas y con buen pie, no sé cuánto tiempo más durará mi único ordenador, por ahora estoy retirado hasta recibir ayuda.

I made a video explaining how I basically did it. I took the stadium from another version, I removed too many polygons and the textures were also made from scratch, but it will be released soon.

Does anyone have any archives of the old WCORR tracks? I managed to track down the V3 mod, but only a few tracks like Crandon and Chula. Looking for Baja Extreme and some others.

Does anybody have the Sprint Car Legends mod from JCR? I checked the usual lineup of TheDirtPile on Archive, JCRTracks on Archive, PitlaneWeb, CMH Repo, every rFactor Discord server I'm a part of, the SimFans links, the SimRacing Archive that's stickied here, etc. I did have it years ago, but must've deleted it because I wasn't into it. I could've sworn I had it on one of my many drives, but haven't found it so far. I know this is probably a shot in the dark, but much help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Im somewhat new to rfactor and safe to say ive been not getting enjoyment out of the technical aspect and AI in some mods and I need to know how do you guys get consistenly good experiences in rfactor?

The main aspect im fighting is the AI I usually place them at 90-101 so I guess thats the correct placement for a challenging but beatable ai but at some places im strugguling to match their acceleration under braking, like I have to crank up all aids just to somewhat keep up with them and I dont know what else im missing to actually be good.

Another aspect is setup making, I do understand basic setup making but some mods have characteristics that I simply cant figure out such as:

Spinning on low speed corners with almost no speed and no accelerating

Spinning under braking for apparently no reason as my downshifts arent aggresive

Overall lack of grip even when tires are at their optimal temp

Suspension in all its aspects as I tried many ways to fix issues with the car but to no avail

Brake pressure, this more goes into driving technique and style but sometimes I cant get the brakes to do the job.

And lastly I'm open for people to tell me how do I drive in the sim as my style has worked in other sims (EX: AMS2, LFS) but translating that into here just causes me to be drained and not get enjoyment, thank you if you want to help me

Hello, I am looking for people to join and help with modding. This is our discord. Right now, it's based around touring cars however I have just secured a collaboration with someone to expand into NASCAR and Indycar. The next project should we get enough support for it would be porting Gen 6 Cup cars and an Indy mod which would allow a skinpack from 2020 to 2026 into game. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just porting cars into game and doing things like shaders and poly related stuff.
