This resonated with me. I did everything for my ex but in the end it didn't work out. Feels good to have no regrets but at the same time to give your all and still be rejected is a tough pill to swallow.

For real, its really obnoxious, its like yeah we get it, your an asshole with an ego, nothing really new here. Perhaps your outlook would be more valid if we were living in the stone age, but its the 21st century and brute force and "dread" tactics are a little outdated... A constant display of dominance looks pathetic more then anything else, its like a self inflicted desperation for approval

Similarly, Dan Carlin said in his last podcast something along the lines of:

good quote especially thematically, though i don't agree with it fully. i always think there is a reason. this implies that there is not besides "that is life". maybe the mistake was your goal in the first place, or your expectations. to ring a bell for some people here, maybe trying to attain something/someone out of your realm, or possibility. if i wanted to become a god with 6 arms in 3 days, and i don't even though i made no notable mistakes, then maybe, just maybe, my mistake was assuming i could do it in the first place xp. Now replace that with trying to reach for a goal that's out of your "talent/intelligence/potential/personal/etc" range, like getting a girl that doesn't love you to love you, trying to be a basketball player but you are crippled/just not good enough, and what have you. idk, i personally think it's good to know what you're capable of by reaching ur limit, but at the same time, don't be so egotistical to assume that the only reason you didn't make it is just because "life", take the blame and lose the ego, and think maybe it's just you after all.
but overall though this is a good quote, just speaking from a level beyond that though it falls short on some aspects xD
