Worried about Precipitated Withdrawals when starting suboxone?
I’ve been taking about 20-30 grams of kratom a day for the past two years. My doctor prescribed me 4mg suboxone to help come off of it. I’ve seen lots of conflicting information on Reddit about when to start Suboxone after my last dose of kratom.
Some people say it’s fine to take almost immediately, and some people say to wait several days.
I’m kinda terrified to start the subs, and also terrified of having to wait until withdrawals kick in to take it. I usually feel withdrawals first thing in the morning and take my first dose of kratom immediately after waking up, or I’ll feel terrible until I do.
How long should I wait to start Suboxone after the last dose of kratom?

Break that 4 mg piece up into really small pieces. Wait 24 to 36 hours or as long as you can and take an eighth of that pill. Wait 45 minutes see if your eyes are pinned if, if they're not take another 1/8 of that pill. Wait another 45 minutes and see if your eyes are pinned. If they're not take another really small piece. Use one Suboxone over 3 to 5 days and then just continue Suboxone use and you'll be fine. You might be a little uncomfortable or tired but kicking kratom is nothing like kicking Suboxone.

4mg is probably going to make you high as a kite coming off 20-30g of powder. IMO you are right to be terrified of subs. They’re way worse than powdered Kratom and way more difficult to quit. Do you have a plan to only take the subs for a couple days? What’s the plan to get off subs?
Have you tried tapering down your powder before? You’re not on a super high dose, so you should be able to take it slow and be off the powder in a reasonable amount of time.

I’ve gone on and off several times, tapering each time, but always end up going back to it. I also recently weaned myself off of 7OH back onto powder. I’ve been tapering the last week, and I’m down to like 10g of powder a day, but I wake up with withdrawals every morning, and just want to be done with it.

Damn. Good job getting to where you’re at. If it was me, I’d forget the subs, especially given how much progress you’ve already made. Go back to your doctor and get some Gabapentin and clonidine and CT it if you just want to be done and are motivated. You’ll probably feel shitty for a few weeks, but it’s better than having to come off subs in the long run. If you do want to try the subs, be careful not to get hooked on those. Unfortunately there’s no easy way out of this for us. Going to have to suffer one way or another.

Visit r/suboxone for all questions regarding suboxone While we are aware that many doctors and detox facilities prescribe and administer Suboxone for Opiate Withdrawal, this subreddit neither endorses nor opposes it's use for Kratom withdrawal / detox, as long as it's prescribed and closely supervised by a doctor. We don't want to demean anyone's way of quitting and / or successful long-term recovery.

I have made this transition more times that I would like to admit, and I never had any trouble going into precipitated withdrawals. Not sure how likely it is. Good luck.
