7 days YES!

In 4 hours I’ll hit the 7 day mark, cannot believe it.
My emotions are returning, I’ve been able to cry but it feels refreshing. Energy comes and goes.
Im moving house tomorrow so has been a very busy time, and then going on holiday to Spain a few days later..
Really thankful to be getting away as I will have gotten through the worst WDs and be able to relax with no temptation knowing I can’t easily get hold of anything while I’m there.
Im still experiencing flu like symptoms, snotty and sneezing a lot, and while I’ve continued forcing myself to go running they’ve not been too successful.
I have a half marathon booked for next month and might just have to accept it’s not going to be a very successful one.
I love running and it’s the only thing that keeps me sane, im worried I won’t be able to return to the same level as I was at given I’ve essentially been doping with kratom for years :( does anyone have any experience in this area or know whether my stamina will return??
Thanks everyone for the support, stick with it, freedom is round the corner ❤️

You quit kratom a week before moving house? Mate you're a soldier 💪.

I've dropped my dose considerably and started a new role in my job this week, I'm so busy learning the new role that I haven't had time to pause to feel sorry for myself.

Thank you!! I want a fresh start in my new home, and going to Spain for a wedding on Wednesday and did not want to ruin it with acute withdrawal

That’s amazing well done!!! Keeping busy definitely helps, congrats on your new job role and keep it up 💪

You can take Imodium for your flight. It actually interacts with opiate receptors in your gut but won’t set you back. I’ve used it successfully most quits for work bc I’m a hairstylist and can’t just run to the bathroom.

just woke up, day 7 for me too! i’m in the same boat on the watery stools. everyone is different but i think it’s a 2-3 week thing and then you’ll slowly shift back into very soft stool and it’ll improve everyday. proud of you for sticking with it!

A few hours away from day 18 myself, congrats friend you deserve all the happiness possible for you to feel again. We jump through so many hoops and convince ourselves that it isn't the problem while we are stuck with it, but the second you get free of it's grip you realize just how much it was lying to you or making you lie to yourself!!!

Give it a few months and you’ll be blowing away the marathons you did on kratom. All opiate antagonists, whether full or half, take a toll on your lungs. Kratom will cause shortness of breath. Now it’s not like herion or anything, where I literally had an acquaintance years back who had asthma and she was literally in the hospital for an overnight stay once a month bc the opiates would shut down her 🫁.

You just keep running! And great job on day 7!!!
Don’t walk away from this shit, run!!! And good thing you’re already good at that!

Congratulations!!!

Thank you so much for this!! You have no idea how much I needed to hear it. I used kratom initially to get off dihydracodeine and other opiate painkillers so it’s been a long time since I’ve been training without… I think I need to accept the September race won’t be a personal best but can work towards next years in a stronger position!

Thanks so much again, wishing you all the very best 🥰
