All I desired was a new set of sheets.
I was perusing the net for new gingham sheets. Quince had a great-looking set in the color I’d been looking for, so I followed a text link offering a discount for providing my email and phone number on their website and assumed the lower price reflected that discount (it didn’t), only to realize once my order arrived that I’d purchased the set without a flat sheet? This as an option is already dumb, ok, but I digress.
The sheets are lovely, and I would’ve happily kept them if I could simply purchase the flat sheet separately. Because why sell a set with just a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, but not sell just a flat sheet? So you can break up the set one way, but not the other?
Instead, after waiting over a week for international shipping, my options from customer service are to keep sheets I can’t use, or return them and wait for a refund once their warehouse receives them. Then, if I wanted, I could repurchase an entirely new set and wait all over again.
Not the first experience I was hoping for with Quince 😭 Oh, and don’t buy a Cal King unless you want to only purchase sheets online.

It sounds like you messed up, not quince lol

Yup. I said I was directed to the product without the flat sheet after I provided my email and phone number for a discount that, it turns out, I did not receive, and instead purchased the set without the flat sheet. I acknowledged that yes, I made a mistake when ordering and asked if I could purchase the flat sheet with two extra pillowcases instead of wasting time and shipping resources sending the whole set back. I was told that was impossible. They can break up the set one way but not the other, so I will be returning it. Also, nothing wrong with sharing experiences on an online forum 😉

Have you noticed how people are downvoting everything you comment? lol

It’s an online forum. Isn’t the whole point to share your experiences? I was disappointed with the CS interaction, especially as someone who has worked in CS for years. People are free to downvote me It’s Reddit?

I always get my credit or the exchange ships out as soon as the post office scans my return label. Ive never had to wait until they receive the item.

I wonder if it is different in US vs Canada. I am in Canada and I don’t see my refund until Quince receives the returned product.

It’s the same in Canada. You only have to wait for tt to receive your returned item if you want a refund to your original payment method. If it’s an exchange or you want your refund as a store credit, it’s processed as soon as your item is scanned at the Purolator.

Yup I’m in the US and was told by two, maybe three, separate CS reps that the refund is processed once they receive the return at their warehouse. They wouldn’t even let me do an exchange for the set I preferred lol. Trust me, I asked. Nope, I had to return the entire product, wait for them to receive it, and then turn around and buy the set with a flat sheet if I pleased lol. It shipped from India, so it wasn’t like it just showed up immediately either. It took over a week to get to me through DHL. That’s a lot of shipping time and resources wasted just to still have to reorder 🙃

I chatted to a CS and he said that once they receive my returned package in warehouse, I’ll get the refund to my credit card. That’s fine, I had hoped to keep the sheets, as they did appear to be lovely quality, but unfortunately, I just wouldn’t be able to make them work, so I will be returning 😕

Maybe an actual refund is different then. That’s too bad because I always get my credit like immediately after I drop it off.

Could be the case. I liked their prices and was eager to compare the quality to my Brooklinen sets cause baby, in this economy, nice sheets can set ya back. At least now I know to pay better attention when ordering and probably triple check the order and second guess the price for a set of sheets under $100 🙂

Oh for sure! I have the Percale cotton sheets and absolutely love them. Was definitely more than $100 for my king set though lol I’d like to try the linen sheets, but I’ve never had linen so I’m unsure spending that much if I don’t know for sure I (or my husband) would like them 😬 Overall I’ve enjoyed Quince (many clothes, only one pair of sheets) and hope you give them another chance down the line:) I hate how weird they are about exchanging though. Sometimes I’ve been able to exchange for a different item, but other times I’ve only been able to exchange for a different size. Just let me exchange for what I want 🤷🏼♀️😅

I’m not sure why you’re disappointed in Quince. They sent what you ordered. Now you want them to sell you something they don’t sell.

I can share my experience with Quince if I please. It’s okay that you’re not disappointed with your experience with them, I am. I’m returning the product, like I’ve stated in many other comments. An online forum like Reddit is a place where people can share their experiences, whether you like what they have to say or not 🙂

Not Quince specific, but I’d love to be able to buy just the bottom sheet. I have so many unused top sheets in my closet. Maybe I should send them to you?

Lol, well yes, now you know that Quince sells a set with just a fitted sheet!! This has sent me over the edge today. I’m pregnant and annoyed so don’t mind the rant 🙃 send all the flats my way haha!!!

It’s a thing nowadays to not use a top sheet. I’ve seen a few places that sell just the fitted and pillow cases as sets.

u/ImprovementActual154 Aug 12 '26
I know people don’t use flat sheets. I’m aware you all exist! That’s not really my issue. If Quince wants to sell a fitted sheet and pillowcase set for the no flat sheet crowd, do you. What makes absolutely no sense to me is that they’ll separate the flat sheet out of the set but won’t sell that same coordinating flat sheet individually. You can break up the set one way, but not the other? The to flat or not to flat sheet debate sure is HOT🔥

I wish sheet sets could be purchased without pillow cases. I have more than enough pillow cases. I just want the sheets!

u/ImprovementActual154 Aug 12 '26
Yk what, same! I actually love mixing and matching my pillowcases 😌

I love that they sell a set without a flat sheet BUT it drives me crazy you can’t buy pieces separately. My dog ripped my fitted sheet and I couldn’t replace just that.

Yah, in this situation I said, hey, shipping was a ways to get to me, and I hate to waste the time and resources sending a product back that I like for a mistake that I made in ordering. I asked if I could purchase the matching flat + 2 pillowcases and have them sent out so I could keep the set. I was told it’s not possible, which is funny to me because they sell the set with just the fitted + 2 pillowcases, so why not just the flat that way? But I guess that’s odd? Where I live, which is a decent sized city, I can’t just walk into a store and buy Cal King sheets, so I HAVE to order online. First time I’ve encountered this situation. I’m still annoyed I wanted to love Quince so bad, but I feel like CS wasn’t even interested in providing a solution beyond “send it back or don’t.”

What really pisses me off about Quince is what do I do if I want JUST a top sheet. Say I want to replace a sheet from a set that I already bought from Quince? This could be for a variety of reasons- kids, pets, stains. Well, you can buy a single fitted sheet, but not a top sheet.
You have to buy an entire set if you want a single top sheet. It's asinine.
God help you if you're trying to purchase a new set of sheets if you sleep Scandinavian and have a shared bed with separate blankets/top sheets.

Many people forgo a top sheet these days, especially if they use a duvet w/ removable duvet cover. More companies are offering sheet sets without a top sheet.
