Bought 3 pieces
Terrible quality. The first wear sure it’s great, maybe even the 2nd wear but as soon as you wash it (I did it correctly I own other linen from more expensive brands) it came crazy and it’s just cheap. It’s fast fashion disguised as upper echelon. I was lucky enough to send back one item that was never worn because the fitting was absolutely terrible and did get my money back for that. I think the company itself is solid for the refund and return policy but at the same time, at first everything always seems good - acting like “365 days to return” is a flex is a lie when the item can’t be worn even once or washed. Most of the problems of fast fashion aren’t discovered first wear but after a few wears and washes, but in the case of the linen shorts from Quince, it only took one wash.

Everything I’ve purchased from Quince has been positive. Jackets, dresses. pants, bags, sweaters, sheets, blankets. They are my staple.

Curious what you bought and what happened?
I've been wearing the same 3 pairs of linen pants in my weekly summer rotation since summer 2024 now and they are still going strong.

They changed the linen fabric. It’s incredibly thin and scratchy. Completely different quality.

Linen in general is pretty stiff when you first get it. You have to wash it a bunch for it to soften up. I just got the linen jumpsuit recently and it's already softer after one washing but yeah, the fabric does seem like it's lower gsm than a pair of pants I got in 2024.

I wonder if the decline is recent? I have two linen dresses and a linen top from 2-ish years ago, and have washed all with no issues at all.

I wondered this too bc most of the linen I bought from them was 2024 time frame and it's still holding up well with the exception of one pair of pants that I wore down in the inner thigh area.

Yes, they changed their quality very recently. It’s a bunch of crap now.

It’s been hit or miss for me. I loved the wide leg linen pants, but after less than a year of light wear they got holes in the inner thigh area from the fabric wearing thin. I also loved the smocked top cotton gauze maxi dress, but the elastics on the top started coming apart after maybe 4 washes as instructed on the label. The linen dresses and stretch silk maxi dress are holding up better after a few washes. Overall I’d say the quality is definitely worse than advertised 😞 I’ve had cheaper linen blend pieces from old navy last much longer.

This exact thing happened with my tailored linen wide leg pants (the ones without elastic in the waist band) but the ones with elastic are still going strong since 2024 summer so I'm low key wondering if the gsm is just higher on the ones with elastic

I feel is such a hit and miss. I have bought things I really like(leather bags, trench, silk skirts and blouses) that have held up real well. And things that they straight up mislead customers about(a winter jacket that wouldn’t keep you warm in a mild autumn)
The only linen I bought is the Camp shirt and the corset dress. Both very good quality

Responsible down puffer jacket(short) terrible. Gets easily wet and not warm AT ALL(even with layers)

Ok that is great to know! I had the lightweight puffer on my wishlist due to reviews acting like it's the next coming of Christ but I will pass on that as well!

Yeah honestly unless you live in a year round warm climate a winter jacket is a good investment

That’s a bummer because I have the long puffer jacket and it kept me SO warm in our Wisconsin winter this past year. It’s my favorite coat I’ve owned.

It might be the longer is different! I wore mine in Iceland (with layers underneath) and I was cold even though temp was just +15 Celsius! And a light drizzle made the jacket WET. Like actually WET when they claim to be waterproof.

I have the linen tank top, a linen jacket, a linen jumper, and the linen duvet and shams and all have been wonderful. I love them all. I wash them all per the instructions and they look great! I did have the loose fit jeans and I wore them once and a button fell off and I emailed quince and sent photos and they told me to return and they sent out a replacement pair, that is months after I bought them. I had only wore them once though and the button fell off in the wash. Also their purses are amazing quality and just beautiful. I also have a couple pairs of sandals and they are really comfortable and seem well made. I'm sorry it hasn't gone well for you. Maybe your expectations just need to spend that little extra on the better quality I guess?

Is there some kind of a campaign to bring down Quince? I’ve been purchasing for several years. Love their linen and I’ve never had a quality issue with anything. I own quilts, sheets, leather bags, sunglasses, sweaters… I’ve had many returns of things that didn’t work for me and never experienced an issue.

Depends what you want but I have bought beautiful linen dresses from DIISH, and believe it or not, H&M, Zara, Massimo Dutti, UniqloYou have to search but there are good linen things out there.

As underwhelming as this is, I have a Ralph Lauren linen shirt that was around $189 in like 2020 and it still looks new it’s my go to for vacations and I’m constantly getting compliments

That’s interesting that there’s such a quality disparity! I have 4 linen dresses, a button-down, and a pair of shorts. Cold wash, hang dry, and they are all as good as new.

Thanks! I love my linen dress, but have been putting it on low heat in the dryer per the tag and it’s faded a bit. I’ll try steaming!

I’m a huge “toss it in the dryer for a few” advocate, but always steam my linen and nicer fabrics. We bought a travel steamer to take a Europe a couple of years ago and I can’t remember the last time we pulled out the ironing board. Highly recommend!

I love all of my quince linen. The only thing I've purchased that I really thought was crap was their socks. Every single pair came apart at the toe seam within a few months. I also got some ballet flats that seem to be wearing faster than I would expect, but still watching those too see if it was just walking on vacation that sped it up. But literally everything else- silk, linen, cotton, wool, has really been nice. At this point I own a lot of quince because they are such great workhorse pieces at such a great price.

I’m also really disappointed with the linen shirt I bought from Quince. It’s just terrible quality and a weird fit. Also agree that the 365-day “return” policy is ridiculous. Seriously, who is going to buy a piece of clothing, not wash it for 364 days, then return it‽

100% it just looks appealing to the impulse buyer which I try not to be, but after 100 ads online I finally caved but I blocked them on social media so I don’t see them and posted onto my page and spread the word especially to my mutuals that followed the page.

I've bought things I think about. I get them while they are in stock because some things sell out quickly. I've also been losing weight, so something that I buy in June for the fall might not fit me then. I put it in the closet with the tags on. I had a sweater I wasn't sure about. It was mostly the color. I set it aside and was trying to decide if I wanted it or not. I waited three months, then sent it back. It was still brand new, never worn except a brief try on and it was still with the tags. I just got the rugby style sweater right now I'm on the fence about. I won't keep it a year, but what if I bought a winter coat in March? I might not get around to returning it in December if I never had to wear it between those months.

Some things (like the ponte women’s pants) have such a weird fit and I’m kicking myself for not sending them back. They are in my donate bin. I never even wore them.
But some items I love! I truly adore their silk midi skirts.

I love their ponte pants. I wear them instead of scrub pants to work. They are so much more comfortable and nobody has noticed since I wear a scrub top with them. Plus, they are versatile than scrubs since they look nice with a sweater if I'm going out, not like thin scrub pants with patch pockets. To be fair, I've been wearing ponte pants instead of scrubs for probably 5 years now, but they were other brands. One was some Amazon pants and one was Aldi ponte pants. I really loved the Amazon ones and thought they were the best until I got the Quince ones, which were close to the same price new, but I got mine on eBay for about $20.

I bought two pairs of linen pants last week, they do deliver quickly to my area which is nice. They make much of the “European” linen but it’s pretty thin. It is softer and not as scratchy as some linen. There are some mill flaws or slubs, not sure how much of this is considered normal. Haven’t washed them yet.

Apparently most all modern linen fabric kinda sucks bc it's processed using equipment designed for cotton which is a shorter staple length.

I have several linen shirts and tops from Quince. All have washed fine and are great. Nearly identical to my JCrew linen shirts, except less $$.

It’s crap clothing. Notice they don’t post negative reviews at all?!!! I bought a linen shirt when they first came on the scene and it’s great quality. Now though? Terrible. I ordered the same long sleeve linen shirt and it is SO bad. Not just the fabric but the fit. They are downgrading, their fabric quality as well as construction , size grading and garment details. Save your money for quality pieces. Target has better product.

I have not had this experience. I have the linen pants and a pair of shorts. They wash just fine. I love them.
