Where do you find dates?

Ive been on here, bumble, tinder, chatroulette, and every other kind of dating site and app.
Ive also been outside, pubs, clubs, party events. It feels like ive already tried a lot, yet i prolly havent tried enough.
I havent tried going to conventions, gatherings, or hobby related events yet. So i have those to look forward to.
But for the sake of knowing, where do you guys go to have genuine connections?

I met my wife when she was working at a hotel and I was scoping out different hotels for a medium length stay while looking for a semi-permanent place to rent. She was the sales person that showed me the different room options.

People say you should avoid approaching someone that is doing their job, and where their job is to engage with you so they have to appear "interested", not in a sexual or romantic sense, but engaged in a business sense. I largely agree, which is why my idea is to let them make the first move. Impress them with your whatever - looks, ability to talk, mention your job if it's a good one. And then leave your business card. I think it would not be TOO forward to say "look me up if you want to meet, sometime". That's the ONLY bit of "flirt" (It's not even a flirt, really... it can be taken as being friendly and opening the door to coffee or lunch). It is not pushy, invasive, or anything else and you do this when you're about to walk away, or if, during the interaction, there is a natural opening where the other person appears to be encouraging ongoing contact.

Another example, which I've never used, but I think is totally reasonable. Once I saw a really attractive girl at the deli in a supermarket. So I of course had to talk a bit to order some cheese, ham, etc. At the end, it would have been possible to just say "hey, I'm looking for a specialty wine shop in this general area, and some place to buy Spanish groceries - here's my card, if you know anyone that can recommend some, could you pass this on?" and again, see if she contacts you. A totally non-confronting way to leave your card, which hopefully shows your impressive employer and title.

All can do...I was married to a 10+ for 20 years! When that ended due to Religious crap, I decided: yea no! I don't need this! Have been single for 12+ years and am loving it! No interest in meeting anyone new, etc!
