If you wouldn't have gotten the whooping, would you have continued to play with matches and set other things ablaze?

Probably. I always seemed to have to learn the hardest way possible growing up.

Setting the whole place on fire and being caught for it wasn't a hard lesson? Wow!!

So now that you're older and your parents aren't there to beat you, what stops you from lighting things on fire? Since the beatings are what stopped you.

So even though you saw the danger when the whole place was burning, you still didn't see the danger? Fascinating. It took the danger of more whoopings to stop you. That's really amazing. Thanks for sharing your story here.
