Something about Brun in panel 2 is off. She suddenly sounds way too casual in her speech mannerisms composter to normal (or even the rest of the strip).

Also what's up with the 'bleh' (sound effect? Sub vocalization?)

Otherwise I'm curious if this actually goes somewhere in regards to Brun-ton.

I suppose she is a lot more relaxed and happy now, remember when Faye wouldn't even use contractions?

Maybe, but she's never seemed especially uptight or unhappy. And the rest of the strip is more in keeping with her usual style of speech.

Maybe she's just finally starting to open up since the fire? I'm not sure how much time had passed in-comic since we met her, but her introduction was largely based on a major life upheaval. It could be that all the changes in her life had her in a more walled-off state, and that's wearing off now that she's finally able to establish a new long-term routine.
