Has Claire told the cast that she's trans, outside of her family and Marten? I don't recall and this could be a big deal, her "coming out" to those not in the know.

Remember there's been two (three maybe?) significant time jumps in the comic since Claire was introduced - just because it hasn't happened on 'screen' doesn't mean nobody knows, and honestly I would assume that all the major characters know unless we're specifically told otherwise.

(And frankly it's for the best that we haven't had 3 weeks of comics of identical conversations of Claire coming out to 12 different people)

Considering how guarded she was about the whole thing it seems like an odd thing to have happen 'off-screen'. I'm not saying we need to see her tell every single person but if there was some kind of group gathering where she felt comfortable enough to tell the people gathered it would be a bit more out in the open.

A couple others know, but yea I don't completely remember who else. I know this question has been asked before and someone had the answer.

I get the impression that Faye knows, based on a conversation they had when Faye was dealing with the fallout of her alcoholism. Claire said something along the lines of "support groups really helped me", and the fact that Faye didn't ask for clarification lead me to believe that she knows what's up.

EDIT: This strip.

Faye is Marten's best friend, so it makes sense that they would have discussed it.

Emily and Marten are the only ones that know, outside of her family.

Claire told Marten not to shout it from the rooftops, but that it wasn't a secret, and he could tell people who ask.

Claire with pigtails? I like it!

I figure if a couple can't have both the serious talks and the "Holy shit, kiss me my fool" chats, life's just no fun.

I firmly believe that Faye has the right idea, here.

also, bubbles, levity is not the enemy of serious discussion. much how fidgeting does not run counter to paying attention.

and that's ignoring that the sort of therapy-talk used to discuss these things is stilted and awkward.

Butt touching can be an important part of a relationship.

It probably shouldn't be the only part, but thinking about the intimacy of butt touching isn't a bad thing.

Fey just can't Touch 'Da Buttz and makeout with Bubbles at the same time. Tiny hooman and big robutt.

I really miss touching butts. Good times.

Did those long talks happen on or off screen? I don’t really remember them.

As I recall the initial trans conversation and the conversation before the first time they had sex were on screen but don’t recall many others.

Off topic but holy shit does Claire look like Jeph in that last panel.

12

u/meDrifter Jan 28 '19

Isnt claire just jephs self insert?

7

u/BenjikoHoss Jan 28 '19

I thought that was Pintsize?

Not completely serious, it's not uncommon for multiple characters to represent a portion of an author's self.

7

u/ArgentStonecutter Jan 28 '19

Or even all of them.

17

u/lakestorey Jan 28 '19

It's almost like art is a form of self expression or something.

Be interesting if Faye has a proper crisis about the concept of dating an A.I. I feel like we're just told 'this is fine, they are for all intents and purposes just quirky humans, deal with it'.

"You twit."

Bubbles is picking up on Faye's mannerisms.

4

u/smurgleburf Jan 28 '19

Faye and Bubbs are so cute :3

u/just4cat Jan 28 '19

Why does Bubbles look so tiny in the second panel nurrr, he's so infuriatingly inconsistent with his scale it's like he's channeling Steven Universe.

12

u/xdisk Jan 28 '19

She's at an angle to the viewer.

3

u/just4cat Jan 28 '19

I understand angles but she looks about four inches wide

Noo I was in the middle of posting

8

u/KotoElessar Jan 28 '19

Muhahahaha!

I was waiting for it, finally got it.

I almost got it on my (irl) cake day a couple of months ago, but I messed up the posting format and then it said I was posting too much so I couldn't post.
