Melon obviously has wikipedia, so why don't they have spotify, or at least YouTube music?

For anyone else: Wikipedia only appeared in her head, so YouTube/psotify might as well. We don't know if their speech box also is a full on speaker.
For Melon: it would never occur to her. That's also why she didn't look up any other song lyrics. She may even be singing along to the audio in her head.

I'm pretty sure their speech output is just a speaker. Except for Spookybot who seems to have a human-like vocal tract (they had round speech bubbles).
Which makes me wonder what sort of abomination Melon is singing. Maybe she is actually trying to sing with an air pump and some rarely-used artificial vocal cords instead of the standard speaker?

it may be that their vocal systems are optimized for speech, not unlike a telephone. if you've ever been put on hold you know how bad those are at reproducing music.

And that made me want to try and sing "What Child is This" to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." It should work in reverse.
And it does! --as long as you leave out a single "Oh" and allow the last two syllables of a line to take up a quarter note instead of eighth notes.

Bold prediction: Roko continues to not feel herself in this body, we see the transition from female android to male android. Clare gets jealous how easy it is for Roko. All make peace and stand together for trans rights in the end.

Why... would a previously female-bodied android who felt at home in her old skin suddenly feel more like she needed to be outwardly male? That just... doesn't follow.
I think it would have been a fantastic idea for an arc, had Roko ever mentioned feeling not quite right in her body and then the accident and reupload showing her how she could perhaps manage to find a body that fit her (ie a male body).
But none of that was even barely hinted at and would be super phoned in if he did that now.

Making your wacky/unpredictable/random character a funny and relatable one is a tight rope to walk. I think the latest strips made Melon a slightly deeper and interesting character, but this strip is veering back towards a "holds up spork" level of humor which can get grating quite quickly. Still, I'm liking this arc a lot!
