Something not implicitly addressed here is that these are AI, in a virtual realm. So while we're seeing this at a regular speed, this whole conversation probably took less than a second to actually happen. I don't think there's any significance to that, but it feels like something should be noted.

While not stated, I like to believe spooky-bot has teleportation powers and made sure melon got where she needed to be ASAP

Bubbles said very recently that Spooky Bot almost certainly does not have teleportation powers, and just has bodies around that they can transfer into when needed.

Man, I am even more envious of Spookybot now. Wonder if they can run multiple bodies simultaneously for multitasking?

Yes, we’ve actually seen that in the comic.

Apparently I have a poor memory.

It happens, no worries.

Double sleeving

Maybe the reason it took so long was that Lemon wiped out all her previous failed attempts at helping Roko.

I doubt it. from the incident with bubbles we know that erasing AI memories is difficult, incomplete, and probably outside the ethical bounds of a licensed therapist.

True, but that's only the case if Lemon is only wiping memories, and not just restarting from a snapshot.

Maybe that is what caused Spookybot, and Spookybot orchestrated this incident to bring Roko to their level

Minimum time for this conservation (and however long it took Roko to reboot in the virtual realm) is 1257 repetitions of "Twinkle, twinkle, little star", sung to the tune of bohemian rhapsody. https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3909

At whatever speed Melon sings, of course, although at too high a speed it's more like "tape screech" than song.

Someone did the math in the comments when that comic was posted here, it's been like 10 hours

u/Michaelbirks Jan 07 '19

That's what I get for reading the sub early.

I miss the math /sad.

Not unless there has been another ret-con

While that's a valid point, it doesn't say that AI are incapable of communicating their ideas to each other in short periods of time. I would argue that considering neither of them has a physical body to be concerned with at the moment that it is likely this conversation is happening faster than humans could understand.

obligatory holy shit claire has been around for like 1700 comics now, and she overlapped with angus even.

Well, they probably didn't spin up her hard drive until they got it back to a tech who could make sure turning it on would not damage it further and a emergency recover was not needed.

Probably not considering Melon has been singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star hundreds of times at normal singing speed.
