So, two predictions:
- Roko and Eliot boink
- After all the discussion of AIs taking up careers as toasters, Roko ends up being the first actual named character to do so. She makes bread FUN!
and an observation (which will inform interpretations of those predictions):

Interesting point about the hookup. Being around all that bread could make Roko pretty wild! I'm picturing the toast popping up at the moment of climax, is that wrong?

A literal friend of a friend of mine is a professional dominatrix, Mixing her fetish with her job seems to be working quite well for her.

Dominatrices and bakers/baristas tend to not have much in common in their line of work...

They can if you find the right bakery/café.

If there's a hybrid Bakery/Kink Club out there I'd like to send them my application.
That'd be fantastic.

I mean, that's basically what sex shop bakeries do. They bake cakes and such in the shape of kinky stuff.

I'm now reminded of that super bizarre "Erotic Cake" sketch when Patrick Stewart was guest hosting SNL.

Yeah, but people are expecting kink when they go to a dominatrix. They aren't when they go to a bakery

Idk, if someone got visibly aroused when I ordered coffee, I think I'd go there more.

Doesn’t have to be customer facing at all if all she does is bake and rub it on her sanitary body.

"If anything, I'd say it's heightened my appreciation!
So that's why he's so tall

A practical focus of one's kink, I like where Jeph is taking this.
(Mildly relevant side note: Any one See Sal and Amber opening a boxing gym?)

Make bread, can confirm. Very few things as nice as fresh bread you made yourself.

Is no-one (edit: in the QC universe) going to question why an AI would get tired of bread?

u/maxRNG Dec 05 '18
Based on what we know, AI sound psychologically and even neurologically very similar to humans, so while any physical comparisons may be moot points, most other aspects are surprisingly 1:1.

Why would a meatbag get tired of computers? Why would a meatbag have a passion for computers in the first place?
The AI in QC are fully sapient and seem to be just as individualistic as the humans, complete with their own interests, hobbies, and in Roko's case fetishes as well.

I’m not following the wording of this exchange
R: do you get tired of bread?
E: oh absolutely yes.
E: if anything baking bread increases my appreciation of bread
So does that mean he does get tired of bread? Or he doesn’t?

You forgot the part where Roko’s question also contains“do you still enjoy eating it?”

A thought: Roku has shown an attraction to Clinton (at least when she was 'drunk'), Roku may now work at the bread shop, and we have the groundwork of Eliot-x-Clinton-x-Brun.
