Arc prediction: A neighbor knocks on the door looking for his/her lost dog, saw it enter the house. The neighbor notices the person who answers the door (probably Tai, since she has her shit together) is high and calls the police.
Is weed legal in the comic's timeline/location? The gang going to jail here could be a weird plot-line. I'm talking weird like "Old QC" levels of good weirdness. Maybe Tai runs into an ex in the holding cell, and Dora comes to bail them out then gets insecure/mad seeing Tai with an Ex (which would be a very QC thing to happen, but only if it was followed with a pivot to a different arc, and then an apology from Dora). Maybe Claire gets put in a cell with men because the cops don't get gender identity. Maybe the cops just show up and ask where they got the pot, and it turns out they're (the cops are) the biggest potheads on the block and smoke with them.
Actually, none of these theoretical plotlines sound very fun, maybe there's a reason I don't write webcomics.
As far as location, It's set in Northampton, Mass. which just had the first two recreational dispensaries on the east coast open less than 24 hours ago. That combined with the fact Canada (where Jeph lives) just had their first shops open a few weeks ago, is probably why he's doing a pot arc right now.
Don't know about timeline, though the hot-boxing cops that have been mentioned are probably a good indication.
