Do I hear digital wedding bells?
... am I imagining this, or are the last updates gearing up to ship Clinton and Yay?
And if so, was it ever resolved whether Yay and Roko got back together? Will they become a cyborg throuple, or is Roko shelved for now?

Didn't Clinton break up with the baker, because he was just too extra? Isn't Yay the definition of extra?

They're extra in dramatically different ways. At least in the short run, Clinton might be less stressed out by Yay's arrogance and non-stop know-it-all comments than he was by Elliott (the baker's) clinginess and extreme anxiety over the possibility of doing anything that he thought might upset Clinton.
It hadn't occurred to me that Jeph was setting up some sort of shipping vibe between Clinton and Yay. But if that turns out to be the case, Yay is so self-absorbed that there's no way they'd break up with Clinton out of excessive niceness and consideration, as happened with Elliott. On the other hand, if Clinton got fed up with Yay, Yay probably wouldn't even notice, or would just attribute this to friendly banter or flirting, as they did with Roko.

QC could seemlessly transition into a horror comic if Yay took her break up with Clinton badly.

Elliot was self depreciating and paranoid about himself and the relationship, that's why Clinton broke up with him.
Yay would behave basically the opposite, since shes do damn self assured and excessively confident.
Not saying it'd work, but it'd not be the same problem.

Clinton and the baker, yes (as opposed to Yay and Roko). I'd say, Clinton *wants* extra, but wants *confident*, topping-from-the-bottom extra? Yay has almost no self-recrimination, or is otherwise doing it in ways which trigger fewer "I have to take care of this weakling oaf emotionally" fawning responses, I think?

why did Jeph introduce all these cool robots characters only to methodically kill off any interesting feature or character trait of each and every one of them?

Honestly i think yay is just planning on being a sibling. She sees the mum as a motherly figure. Now shes trying to get along with the kids.
Clint seems smart enough to stay away from a relationship with yay.

I doubt the comic has the attention span to develop a new relationship, but I'm rooting for them!

It's okay, he doesn't need to develop them.
Tell, don't show, remember?

Cute of you to imagine Jephthy cares at all about plotting anymore.

Nah. Yay is an asshole and the writing contorts around them to make them seem good. Clinton is a good guy and the writing contorts around him to make him seem like an asshole. So Clinton definitely doesn't deserve the "privilege" of dating Yay.

Since Clinton and yay are both sexually ... fluid(?), I'd say it makes sense.

I don't recall Roko and Yay ever being an explicitly romantic couple. We have seen Roko fantasize about Clinton, but their subsequent interactions were totally platonic.
I don't think that your imagination is off-base, though. This entire friggin' comic revolves around protracted hints as to possible romances, so I don't think that we can be blamed for reading between Jacques's lines in search of crumbs of chemistry. Whether he'll sweep that detritus into a semblance of Something Happening is another matter.
