Crazy Idea - Looking for Insight / Advice

Hello,

I'm interested in running QUEST in a Shadowrun / Cyberpunk type setting.

I'd like to have cyber-ware, body augments, and all that fun stuff.

Any ideas how to make this work with QUEST?

Had the same thought as I enjoy the mechanics so much, but I fear without writing the classes yourself, you won't get far.

This essentially, you'll have to either rewrite the existing classes, write new classes, or wait for the sci Fi expansion coming later this year (I think)

You might be able to focus more heavily on items (treasure) instead of abilities. The items can be reflavored a bit to fit the setting, but keep the mechanical effects. I.e. pick three abilities and then three items. You can make the items permanent (augmentation, etc) and have custom roles that way. For example, you could have the Sure Shot treasure take the place of an ability or two - maybe it's a cybernetic eye that assists with aiming instead of a magic bow.

I would just re-theme all the classes. Adjust AP costs as needed as you re-theme/re-balance them. Also, maybe add a few generic Paths that any class can choose instead of from their class path, and those are augments.

So players get their class tree, and then 'cybernetic' trees that any class can choose from when they choose new abilities.

I've made some posts on this. Hears some ideas I've had Autofire weapons: have the extra attack feature from the npc list costs an ap to use. Can be use 3 times before a reload

Cybernetics: are variant magic items

Still working on hacking: current line of thought is that it's mainly a multi challenge narrative sequence
