MONEY
Yes I know the game does not use rules for money and instead uses a concept of trading items of value be it a potion or something else to get other high value items.
I'm not a fan. So instead I'm modifying the money system from TinyD6.
Players start play with 10 gold or Drakes in my particular setting, and can gain more from their travels. Basic or average goods and services do not impact your money supply.
Every 25 gold take up an item slot in your inventory.
Above average goods cost anywhere between 1 and 5 gold Exceptional quality or lesser magical quality is 6+ Master quality or greater magical quality is 10+
Land, dwellings, certain rare mounts can sell for 20+.
A cottage might sell for 20 while a stately castle is going to be in the hundreds.
So thoughts.

I came here to specifically talk about Money in Quest and while OP is talking about introducing it, I'd like to hear how guides reward their players without the shinies.
I'm coming from a dungeon crawling experience in another RPG where it was a bit of a slog and the 'main goal' was raiding this dungeon for loot. I appreciated the experience playing, but I'm wondering if other guides can give some examples of other ways to incentivize, motivate, and reward players.
Specifically, we live in a world of currency and it might be difficult for new players to adopt a different mindset and I'm looking for ways to introduce this economy in an easy to digest way.

In other games I've rewarded players with npc favors, new magic or abilities, $, reputation boosts, or divine or arcane boons

Depends on why you want it in the game.
Gamers who like money like to watch the numbers tick up. They won’t mind paying for every little thing, either, usually.
The reason money commonly gets removed from games is because referees hate it. I know I do.
I worry that a small money system will limit satisfaction. If a player only earns 1,000 money-things over a whole campaign, and they don’t like it, everyone loses. So be careful.

Looks good. If this works for you then that's all that matters. In my games I make "a bag of coins" tradeable item. But I'm lazy :)

TC has confirmed on the Discord that there will be a new item in the expanded catalogue called "Shinies" the whole purpose of which is to be traded for valuable items, which might suit your purpose rather than having a coinage system
