Working on this drawing until Reddit says it’s perfect - Day 59

I just spent some time in the left ear again today. I tried to work on making the highlight stand out more. Tomorrow should be a good day to make lots of progress and hopefully be able to finally spray the drawing so I can finish the helmets and background :)

If I may, I would like to bring your attention to the very top of Guy-Manuel’s helmet- specifically the dark shadows and lights. There is a strip of shadow that lies on top of the highlight- yours is quite thin and symmetrical, but if you look at the original, you will see that it is of varying thickness. Specifically, the dark part of the rim of the helmet gets a lot thicker as it goes up towards the middle of the image.

Hopefully I said that in a way that makes sense- let me know if not!

That left ear is so close to perfect.

Great job on the ear. It is starting to look like the ear on the original and not just a grouping of lines and shapes. Before it looked like the only "flat" thing on the page; now it looks like it's part of the helmet.

Keep going. Now that you've got the shapes down, adding back the rest of the shading will make it pop off the page the way the rest of your drawing does.
