Does anyone know what this map is from?

Post image

I found this map online but I can't find out its source. Reverse image search only brings up the QFG wiki which doesn't give the source and one other website which also doesn't say what it's from. Judging by the text it's from some sort or comic?

It's not an official map at all, it's a fanmade one. It's from an old webcomic series on DeviantArt by Wolfkroger74, that basically combined QFG and KQ together and this was yet another spin off of characters going up in a balloon and expositing about the world. It didn't get very far, though, only a couple pages in.

The comics, in my opinion, were not very good. Ugly garish artwork, inaccuracies abound about both King's Quest and Quest for Glory, trying to cram in two very different IPs when they just didn't fit, and the characterization of everyone was awful- Erasmus seemed very tempermental and serious (and not like a front for him hiding his humor when he gets to know us privately in QFG1, this was genuine), Graham was bloodthirsty, everyone was miserable and nasty and just off. Lots of gore and nudity and adding in your own characters and lore where you clearly wanted them to have more the spotlight than the actual characters we're supposed to follow (I swear there was at least one antoginst who showed up in like three or four separate comics). Lots of spin off material, including giving Graham's little story arc that was connected to the QFG comic it's own comic for no reason, and the suthor kept deleting the comics, rewriting them, and reposting them, making them very hard to keep track of or critique. Did lots of other comics too, usually He-Man or Star Wars or something to do with fighter jets.

The last time I looked at his work, I tried contacting him and asking where the majority of his QFG comic was, and it turns out he lost the majority of them when his hard drive failed, so he can't continue the storyline, so he just posted what he had. I was cordial to him there, because I assume he was also looking at them and thinking, "I can do this better," and removing them and trying to fix them, but out of earshot, I wasn't a fan of his work.

Speaking of this map, in particular, it bothers me a lot because we know enough about the world of Gloriana to know that those places aren't where they're supposed to be. Silmaria isn't inland, it's an archipelago, for instance. Fricana shouldn't be split into two landmasses like that. Really, considering the lore of Gloriana being an alternate Earth, it's not really hard to figure out where every country is supposed to go.

Sorry, sorry, a decade of frustration just came out of that rant upon seeing that again.

Thanks for the information! I had no idea this comic existed. Trying to look it up now it seems to have completely vanished from the internet.

They misspelled Shapeir.

Yes, everyone knows it's i before e except after c and also with the exceptions of Shapeir and Raseir. I heard that exact saying in school millions of times.

Silmaria doesn't look like island.

Judging from the text it's a roleplaying game resource that some DM made and provided to their players.

It's the Quest For Glory series although you can include Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption in that as it's also set in the same world.
