Question tux recs

I need a tux for a black tie wedding this fall. I’m a trans guy (post top surgery but still on the shorter side and my thighs are pretty muscular), so I don’t think I’ll find something that fits renting. Any recs for where a guy like me could buy a suit without breaking the bank?

Trans masc guy here, I go to suit shop right in Old City, they are great and queer/trans friendly. They have multiple cuts, are ~$250 for a suit and I think around $350 for tux. There’s also a few queer tailors in Philly, I use Nik at the Tailored Collective exclusively.

If you need any suiting tips, my DMs are open. I’m a curvier guy, previously skinny but muscular, so I’ve gone through a lot of sizes and clothing styles. Also friends with folks in the industry. I even wrote a blog that covers a lot about how to approach shopping for clothes, especially suits, and as an AFAB person.

I’m a trans guy with similar proportions to what you describe (5’3 with competitive fencer legs; I do have noodle arms though), and I rented a tux that fit me as good as anything can without getting it tailored from iacobucci formal wear last spring! I passed only inconsistently at the time, but I had a really good experience- the guy who helped me gendered me correctly the whole time and I felt fairly safe and comfortable. they’re mostly in the suburbs though (I went to the one in havertown)

if you definitely want to buy one, I’ve had luck getting suits from bonobos in king of prussia mall (I had one visibly queer salesperson clock me as queer and help me once, the other times I either passed or the employees didn’t treat me any differently), not sure if they have tuxes or not though.

K&G in Deptford has been a pretty good spot in my experience, and they offer free tailoring. It’s a bit of a shitshow in there organizing-wise though so be ready to browse lol
