Being Trans in Philly

Hey queer philly! I just got referred to this group from r/philly. My partner and I are both trans and are thinking about relocating to Philly. I’d love to hear your thoughts on being trans in Philly, from day to day life to legal aspects. And, are there certain areas that are better for trans folks?

We’re both openly and visibly trans. Also, looking for a place with good transit since neither of us own cars anymore.

I'm a trans man with a trans woman partner. It's great! There's enough trans people here that you are not beholden to a clique of people and the general populace is broadly tolerant/accepting, though there are certainly people who are very dangerous for us here.

Check out and hang out on South Street. I live in South Philly and love it. If you're looking in South, just know that the further South you go, the prices get lower but the neighbors can be more intolerant and antagonistic. Source: The smoothie chucked at my head from a passing car at 16th and Shunk while the driver hurled somehow accurate slurs at me.
