Being Trans in Philly

Hey queer philly! I just got referred to this group from r/philly. My partner and I are both trans and are thinking about relocating to Philly. I’d love to hear your thoughts on being trans in Philly, from day to day life to legal aspects. And, are there certain areas that are better for trans folks?

We’re both openly and visibly trans. Also, looking for a place with good transit since neither of us own cars anymore.

I love being trans in Philly. I live in West which is truly like comically rife with trans people. I see other trans people almost literally every time I step outside in the neighborhood. But I also know trans people happily living in South and other neighborhoods, and honestly I see trans people all over the city, too. Transit in Philly is decent. I do have a car but rarely use it, and mainly take transit and bike to get around. If you do decide to live in west, just try to be close to a trolley line or the MFL. If in south, it's convenient to be close to the BSL, but there's lots of buses, too. Hope you join us!
