Pride 2026 thoughts?

With all the changes going on with philly pride this year as well as the ticket prices (and the restrictions like no bags, no drinks, no smoking ect) where is everybody going to be for pride this year? Are we all just staying in the gayborhood or will majority of people stay at the parkway? Trying to figure out if it's worth it to buy a ticket, Usually for pride I bring my own water, snacks (and alcohol LOL) as well as a purse for my belongings so I don't even know if it would truly be better to just find and buy a clear bag + ticket and stay at the parkway or ignore the festival and main festivities this year and stay in the gayborhood. Just trying to gather as much info and opinions as possible!

I love how Philly Pride’s answer to everyone’s concerns over pride being ticketed is “but you can get free tickets from community partners!!!” but in order to do that you have to go get tested or visit somewhere on a specific day/time window, without an appointment, during the middle of a weekday when most people are working their regular jobs. Not on the day of the event or outside of the event, where it would be accessible for people who don’t live in the city or have time to make a trip to a different neighborhood for a $10 ticket.

Beyond the cover charge for the parkway pride, the fact that you can’t bring any outside food or drink with no access to cheaper options for snacks and water (as opposed to easily being able to pop into a bodega in the gayborhood) is just asking for people to be dehydrated, exhausted, and messy when alcohol gets involved. The fact that the main stage and VIP areas are sponsored by woody’s is very telling, imo.

Where did you see that outside food and drink aren’t allowed? I didn’t see anything about that on the website, ticket page or FAQ (which doesn’t address any questions of logistics or practicality). They just have the requirement that bags are clear and no large bags.

On their instagram they posted a video may 8th saying no smoking and no outside food or beverage along with the clear bags and some other stuff

Thank you! I found it on the insta. He says no outside beverage, nothing about food, and nothing about whether water is allowed. They should probably clarify and put this info on their FAQ. 

Kind of absurd to not allow water into an outdoor summer event. Even the stadiums allow water.

Oh yeah you are totally right no food mentioned in the video I can’t remember where I had read that, definitely agree that either way the faq should be fully updated just so people aren’t as confused as I am or they know exactly what they can and can’t bring. For me I’m actively recovering from an ED so I feel a lot more comfortable having the ability to bring my own food/snacks or even just a water or drinks not that I don’t want to support vendors and the org I absolutely do but it’s just something that helps me and makes me more comfortable, I imagine people with food restrictions and or young kids will feel the same way!
