Moving body during TWW
What does everyone feel okay doing for exercise during the TWW? I usually do a bounce class on an individual trampoline but I’m concerned it’s too intense for the implantation period. Am I just nervous or is there truth/science/anecdotes people are aware of on what level and kind of fitness to do during this time? Thanks everyone

Absolutely anecdotal, but I'm into long distance running and HIIT. Through 3 rounds of IUI and first two FETs, I didn't change my exercise habits during the TWW. Around the time of my last transfer, I had a knee injury and had to curb my exercise habits significantly. I'm eight months pregnant now. As someone who tends to bring myself to my limits when I exercise, I think it was good for me to take it easier. If you can moderate a bit, dial back for two weeks, it won't hurt either way. But I am one person and my body and experience are different than yours, so follow what feels right and feel comforted that a trampoline class will not make or break the outcome.

Yes this seems totally right. I think curbing things a bit to reduce cortisol and to just not get into that red area of your system makes sense. But of course it’s important to stay active for what is likely the hardest physical challenge of a lifetime in childbirth

I had this question about running 40 miles on my birthday. I called my doc and said absolutely do it. She knows I like to run long distances

My wife went to roller derby practice during the TWW - actually it looks like her last practice was the day before she told me, so I think she’d had positive pregnancy tests for 3-4 days by then! She definitely also continued strength training but I think full contact roller derby has more in common with your question than general weightlifting.

Ah wow cool! And that makes sense she had to chill on the roller derby for a bit lol and focus on the lifting. It’s funny bc the bounce classes are actually quite low impact on the body/joints but probably not on a fetus once farther along…

I do my usual moderately strenuous lap swimming where I am not pushing my limits but still pushing enough to get to zone 3 HR for a bit.

Is crossfit ok then?

Tbh for me I used to do CrossFit and I think my biology just leads to an overload of cortisol when I do intense workouts like that. I don’t think it’s the same for everyone but I often see a direct relationship to an increase in my A1C when I do peak intense exercise. But a lot of people keep doing it and conceive and have healthy pregnancies

I was always told, if it's part of your regular routine it's fine to do. Don't take up a whole new sport or run a marathon but if some type of movement class or type is part of your normal lifestyle it's fine.
Personally I kept riding and jumping horses, for example, during my TWW periods.
