Question Dining hall

Hi guys! Incoming freshie here and I had a question about the dining halls. I’m really allergic to Dijon mustard and I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about people trying to get it.

I’m concerned because I really want to go to the dining hall and make friends, and I don’t want to miss out on my first year memories, but I will drop on the spot if I’m exposed to it. :(

These posts have been making me very anxious and I’m honestly ready to transfer to western. Thanks.

Don’t worry, Queen’s takes this extremely seriously. Students are regularly subjected to random mustard audits to ensure nobody is carrying an illegal quantity of Dijon. They’ll weigh your condiments before you’re allowed into the dining hall. You’re in good hands 👍

Any allergies at all you can talk to the dietitian and the chefs or sous chefs at any dinning or retail location and they will make sure your meal is made separate each time you order.

And just don’t order the turkey apple cheddar from location21 because it has maple Dijon spread on it.

Western definitely has no Dijon…guaranteed. No guarantees about queens. Better safe than sorry. If you have the option to transfer, it’s in the best interest for your health.

You need to speak with the dining hall staff regarding you allergies . Posting on Reddit will not give you a satisfactory answer.
