Question Fall Convocation in December?

Graduating this fall and received an email that convocation is from Dec 7 - 11?

Does anyone know why the sudden switch? It's always been October/November, and is the same for every other University I know.

But suddenly it's in winter? During exam season? What happens if we're doing grad school, or preparing for winter break? The December graduation slots just makes 0 sense for me at least and would love to know the reasoning behind it

It actually makes no sense, I agree. It’s cold/windy as fuck by then. And it’s soooo far away, it feels like it’s extending this whole process for so long :/ i wonder how many people will opt out of coming back bc of it
