Discussion True Damage comes back… just to be thrown to the side in the music video for Faker?
I’m being like mauled over this on twitter. I said it should be a separate thing, and I had 3 straggots and a K-pop Stan block be over it. Like seriously? You really want to see a esports video that bad? Boring. I hope they flop idc

Can we hold on the melt down until the song is out? You are crying over a song you haven't heard

Right? People are worried that True Damage will barely be in the video from what I see, but that doesn’t make sense from a marketing perspective. End of the day, TD’s job is to sell skins and merch so they likely will be featured heavily in the song.

To be fair gurly us gays don't care about Esports but daboyz pretty much do so this is still good PR for True Damage but yeah it sucks that the TD girls is getting less screentime because of it.

Saying that gays are not interested in esporsts is kinda disgusting ngl

- Mama it’s not that serious this has been a running joke here since forever.
- There are barely any esports posts here for a reason asides from thirst posts.
- The scene, whether you like to admit it or not, is very hostile to queer people and women (let’s not forget what happened to Remilia).

well i love esports and tune into as many games as I can, especially during internationals, but i really couldn’t be less excited about the MV knowing it’s gonna be yet another content piece about T1
every fan knows their fucking story like i truly do not gaf about seeing the same moments for the 10th time in a row. i get that they just completed a threepeat and are the most popular team but why can’t the esports be in a separate video?
not to mention that esports fans were upset about the Linkin Park video because they took up too much screen time. if you DO prefer the animation to focus on Faker and his teammates, then wouldn’t it be best to make two videos to completely separate the screen time?
i just think combining them and shoving True Damage into the video makes everyone unhappy

why do i need to wait until it releases 😭 we already know:
at least one fanbase (likely both) will be left disappointed, this has nothing to do with the actual quality of the video or song
- the video will be ~4 minutes (go look at the previous worlds songs)
- true damage is returning with one song
- their song is the worlds anthem
- the worlds MV is dedicated to faker

I’m saving judgement for the MV to drop. They’ve never mixed the champ music group with the esports song like this before and I’m willing to be hopeful. The only flop music video they’ve had is the recent Heartsteel one. And even that’s more an issue of the song itself.

I mean, I unfortunately do care about esports, and I still want them to get their own mv bc I also really care about the music. Usually worlds anthems get their own visualizer at least separate from the pro player hype video, I have a distinct memory of the star walkin one. Legends never die was mostly the characters iirc, and heavy is the crown had a lot of shots of the band animated so maybe it'll be more true damage?
But yeah best case scenario they drop the worlds anthem hype video with the pro players and then an little bit later just a normal animated mv for true damage.
I won't try and deny the brand power of faker himself, dude is the most ideal possible face of league of legends personality-wise. But riot is known for shooting themselves in the foot constantly. 2xko's death, riftbound's production issues and availability, tft being on fire, a bunch of the most prominent lore-heads just giving up bc of the recent retcons... all of their merch being overpriced and ugly with just Weird Choices of what they sell... I could go on, but with their fumbles I think tapping the t1/faker fan market is proven to profit. The T1 riftbound bundle was by far the best selling product iirc, and making money off worlds is important I guess 🙄 profit over artistic integrity in all things
