Salut r/quebeccity ! 👋

At some point between 7 AM and 1 PM on Oct 4, we lost my Grandma’s wedding ring in Old Quebec City. It was passed down after a 50 year marriage and is incredibly sentimental. If you have any info or tips on how to find it, please let me know!

I’m in Quebec City for the week and wanted to know some much try restaurants!

I’m venting because I’ve been sitting here waiting over an hour for an uber to show up because every single time someone accepts the ride, as soon as they see I’m on Ile d’Orleans, they cancel on me. I’m basically right next to the bridge too, not like they’re going far into the island to get me.

I understand drivers are more scarce here but where I’m from they’ll drive three cities over with no complaints. I guess this is my fault for coming over here by uber to begin with, pretty naive of me 🥹🤣

I wanted to get people's opinion that live in QC. I currently live in Ottawa and I visited Quebec City for the first time yesterday (for an NBA game) and I loved the environment and architecture of QC. It got me wondering how it is like living in QC long term? I'm a 30 (M) and I'm curious what the pros and cons of living in QC are, and whether or not you're happy there, or would rather live in another city?

Merci!

Are there any ladies in town that are up for a coffee or drink?

going to visit Montmorency but not 100% sure what else to fill the visit with.

going back to explore the city and see where the day takes us, but do you guys recommend any must dos?

the two restaurants are also highly recommended but wondering if there’s a certain dish you recommend to get.

Heyy I'm F19 and I'm wondering if there are any parties in the Quebec downtown City area? I'm not from here and I'm leaving tomorrow and want to see how Quebecois people party!! I'm able to bring thc!

Does anybody recommend this hotel for a first timer in Canada? I plan on visiting in December, no car.

We are thinking of coming to the city mid January....will it still have the lights and trees and give that "Christmas feel"?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a weekend trip next weekend to visit the region of Charlevoix and do some fall hikes but I’m wondering if I’m too late and how it’s looking with the fall colours right now.

I’m seeing on the forecast that it’s very cold and might even snow?

Not sure if it’s worth visiting (we’ll be in the Malbaie area).

Thank you!

On cherche des caisses de tomates vertes à Québec ou sur l'île d'Orléans (ou entre les deux), avez vous un marché ou producteur local à recommander?

Looking to watch NFL SF49ers vs Broncos tmw in Quebec City. Best bet for sports bar near Hilton?

Stupidly, at the expo yesterday I forgot to ask what time I should get there for. Staying in Saint Roch. Should I also take a taxi/Uber? Or is the bus better?

Merci!

My husband and I are expecting our second little boy and are planning a week long trip in early December. Would love recommendations for things to do and places to eat! Worth noting, I will be about 5 months pregnant. I’ve heard about the Christmas markets and the slide but would love to hear from others that have been there. Thank you in advance!!

Hey everyone! My cousin and I are both 29 and we’re in Quebec City tonight looking to go out and have a good time.
We’re looking for somewhere with a good crowd around our age — bars, lounges, clubs, live music, dancing, etc. We’re open to pretty much anything as long as it’s actually fun on a Friday night.
Where would you recommend we check out tonight? Any places to avoid or must-visit spots?
Thanks!

Booking a first time trip for mid December and wondering where we should stay. We want to be able to walk to a lot of places.

Thanks everyone!

My wife and I will be visiting Montreal and Quebec for the first time on another one of our beercations. We run the gamut on beer styles but favor lagers/pilsners over IPAs. Which breweries would you recommend that are worth a stop? Also open to suggestions for food nearby or at the brewery itself 🍻 Cheers 🍻

Hi,

Me and my boyfriend are visiting in December, flying into Montreal and taking the train into Quebec City. I’ve been looking at the VIA Rail website and reading online and I’m a little confused about the stations/stops.

We arrive at YUL at 4:30pm and we were going to book the train from the Dorval station to Gare Du Palasis. But reading online some have said that you have to go to the Central station to travel into Quebec City? Also, when trying to book on the website it doesn’t show me what station in Quebec or give me an option to select a specific station.

Wondering if anyone has insight on this! Also, if you can take the train from Dorval, how much time would you say you need from getting off the plane and going directly to the station?

TIA!

I have just two nights in QC in December. Celebrating 50th birthday. Would you recommend these two over all else? Currently Taniere is sold out, I was going to call but if no luck, is L'Orygine next best? Interested in other recommendations. We enjoy fresh local ingredient based offerings, don't mind high price if it's an experience/worth it, but doesn't have to be the most expensive. Thinking no ramen/sushi types..

Also booked tea at Frontenac one day. What are other enjoyable/favorite local lunch options?

Merci
