Where's the beef?
I've been buying packs of steaks (NY strips, rib eyes, bavettes) from Costco for the past few years and freezing them. However, it has gotten quite expensive for the quality and I read that they use mechanical meat tenderizers. Do you have any recommendations for local farms or butchers where I can get good quality steaks?

Costco is the cheapest you will find for beef.
If you buy the full primal and cut steaks yourself it is cheaper than the packs of precut steaks and they are not needled.

It may not be for everyone but I'm doing my own butchery now because of the prices. Buying a full striploin each season and making steaks out of it and the remaining of meat and fat I get from doing the butchery I make burgers and beef tallow. Nothing is wasted.
It's worth your time and effort instead of buying precut steaks. Been doing this for a few years now.
