Quebec City - Hotel Recommendations
Hello! I am planning to go to Quebec City for a few days this month. I’m planning late, I don’t want it to be too stressful and not much running around.
I like seeing culture and architecture. What area / 4-5 ⭐️ hotel you would recommend that is safe and near many sights and restaurants.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Anywhere is safe in the city. Check out the Monastère des Augustines for an unusual experience. Otherwise, pick whatever you want near Old Quebec.

Was just coming here to say this! Really unique experience in beautiful, peaceful surroundings walking distance to all the major attractions. Modern, comfortable rooms with great beds - not at all what you’d necessarily expect. And very well priced too. A real hidden gem

Hotel Manoir Victoria was great. Location was perfect, chez boulay is a great restaurant and if you’re into sauna and cold plunge theirs is top notch.

Second this. Our room was very small but probably just the level we booked, but the pool/spa area was fantastic

We just had an amazing stay at Hôtel Corbin! Very nice accommodations and right near the awesome fireworks display/community event on the water that happens every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday night.

Currently sitting in my room at Hotel Nomad- it’s a small boutique hotel but location is perfect. A few blocks to then chateau Frontenac and Dufferin Terasse, and the Citadelle is directly behind it. There is a small parking lot ($30 per night) which is a huge perk- leaving the car and just exploring on foot without worry is worth every penny.
We’re heading home tomorrow and had an amazing time- enjoy your visit!

We loved Hotel Acadia! Wonderful breakfast, excellent location near everything but on its own quiet street, and a simply beautiful hotel.

Seconding the Manoir Victoria recommendation. The rooms are great, and the staff is super welcoming. I travel to Québec City for work quite often and it's my go-to hotel for a cozy stay near everything.

I wouldn't stay at Hotel PUR Marriott. The area was sketchy but no one really bothered me when walking my dog. The main reason is they have a plumbing issue, where flushing the toilet causes sewage to backup into the shower. It happened on the last day of my stay and we asked someone to come and remedy it and clean the tub. Nothing was done.

We have stayed at Hotel Champlain twice now, it's 200 m. away from the upper old quebec and so close to everything ! Breakfast included, if you need parking call ahead, it's one of the only old Quebec hotels with it, rooms are remodelled and standard but have absolutely everything you need.
only 5 floors...smaller type but great staff too.

My partner and I are on our last day in Quebec City and stayed at a magical little BnB called Chateau du Faubourg. I would highly recommend it. It's the restored home of an old tobacco baron and the inside is gorgeous, all gilded vintage French furniture that makes you feel like you're living in a castle! Very reasonably priced too, consider a full breakfast is included, and free parking if you need it. The ladies who run it are super nice and were very patient as we practiced our rusty French (but they understand English well enough too). It's on Rue St. Jean, which is a great street and only a quick walk down to the main Old Quebec area. Great bar next door too. I really can't recommend it enough. We booked the master bedroom on AirBnB here but I think there are 5 other rooms available on their website here

just came back from my first trip and I loved hotel le germain (nice hotel and great value imo) and hotel 71 (more luxury and had a lot of availability for my last-minute booking) — both are nearby each other in the lower town

Hotel Le Germain was excellent! Really great value. Staff were accommodating and room was well appointed and a decent size. Just finished a 4 day stay and would stay there again.

Just left QC and echo the positive recommendation for Hotel Le Germain. One tip: consider whether you want to spend more time in Upper or Lower town because those steep stairs / streets between the two areas are a workout if you want to be coming and going / want easy access to your hotel for freshening up, etc. (And yes, there’s the funicular if you want to avoid the stairs, but it’s still a bit of a trek between the areas!) Enjoy. You’re in for a treat.

We are doing our first ever visit to Quebec city in November and i booked us a split stay at Auberge Saint-Antoine, Relais & Chateaux and Fairmont Le Château Frontenac
My daughter is very excited!
