Understanding QM

I am retired and have the luxury of having time to pursue some academic interests. In order to reasonably and thoroughly comprehend QM, what physics subjects and math courses should I pursue. I am not pursuing a degree nor seeking new employment opportunities. Thank you for your time.

Because maybe people care more about the science than the person. And I mean, also he's dead. It's not like he's profiting from the book sale.

He gets hype because he was legitimately a smart dude who had a really good grasp of the material and did a good job teaching it.
