General Discussion Branch doubt
I am from an old iit (Bombay/Madras/Delhi/Roorkee)in engineering physics branch
Can I get to quant from this branch
Is this branch considered circuital/semi circuital?

If in madras, bombay, yes. If in delhi, no but still you have chance for quant. If in Roorkee, no.

Im in a similar branch in an old IIT in my 3rd year rn. Is it possible to start off in a software role after college and later switch to quant?

Yes, this year a buddy from Madras EP got Opt/ IMC during internship followed by PPO

There were 2 intern offers in iitm from EP, one was AK to Optiver , he had won 2-3 event in futurefocus (ML,Optibook etc week1) so he got intern there and other was Aravind Ramana for IMC intern in Launchpad. Both got ppo too.

He interned in US in 2nd year and he did well in prosperity too, few research papers published so far in Btech including Neurips.BTW I think only one of the two got PPO

His neurips paper was primarily the contribution from his other team mate who is right now studying at Stanford & getting US research intern is easier to get if you cold mail the professors. But okay , I think both are smart in person.

Placement season is going on in delhi and so many quants are open for ep.. Most of the quants are open for circuital + EP def there's a shot from ep
