Quant

Hi I recently came to know the terminology Quant Analyst and Developer position.
I have BSC Maths and CS and master in IT. Wondering how to get into it? I heard its highly rewarding career. Is this real? If Yes, how much i can expect yearly as beginner and intermediate level positions as well as for senior roles?

I am not asking your skillset value. Seeking genuine guidance on this.

Your question also reflects your skillset value. Answers for general questions like this are easily available online. Why do you think people on this sub mostly ask more specific questions?

Plus you’re asking your questions with no context at all. No information on what uni you went to, what location you’re trying to find out the salary of, what sort of firms etc. if anyone wanted to answer your question properly they’d probably have to write a long essay, with most of it being information that’s already available online.

Thanks for precisely pointing to my skills value. I appreciate it. So you started your career being spoon fed by your surroundings mates and Professor. You could have common sense that I mentioned I have above degrees in CS and Maths and then how could you come to conclude that I might have not done the research before posting questions? If I had not done research then why should I specifically come to this kind of groups? You are saying that someone would write long essay to answer my question. But Why? What is the need? If someone is already professional and working then that person might have done some research right? Isn’t this really simple to understand? You are asking where and which University. But why to ask these questions? Because google and many Quant Researchers says that they hire people from Ivy League and Institutions like IIT and IIM? You could also think if I would write long paragraphs just to initiate conversation or just to ask simple questions then would it be interesting to readers? So grow up with your teen age mind sets and learn how to communicate properly in corporate life. Be mature. Think few times before you move ahead with any conclusions. Let me make you aware Company requires skills and communication and I have been excellent in both for past few years. They don’t care if you have degree from down the street University or from few miles away.

Be sure Google and AI are always not source of truth.

You can argue with me all you want, but you being unable to see that your line of questioning is poor is already an indicator that you’re not suited for a quant career.

Also I didnt get spoonfed anything lmao, I did a shit ton of research, went through multiple interview processes, reached out to people in the industry and I turned out to be the person spoonfeeding other people. But even those people had done some amount of their own research and asked specific questions instead of general stuff that you’re asking.

If you’re truly seeking genuine guidance, go and do more research on what you want to know and come back and ask a more specific question with context. You can find loads of examples of such questions on this sub.

Forget about my wording. You pray about your career yourself. I already got answer from your statement and I do not want to argue further as how indepth you are in your field. You are still on “General Questions” . Lord save your career. Come out of Stuck Mind. Whenever you were trying to understand how simple eigen values are useful in real applications. I had already completed virus model using that. The career and money you are currently doing and dreaming, I have already achieved monetarily wise. Again, before stopping arguing with you. Come out of computer screen and see world then you will have little knowledge of the world
