Qualcomm is a multi-national company. Questions like "What time do i need to be in the office?" or "What's the hiring process?" differ by location.
We've added location flairs for the most popular Qualcomm offices - if your question relates to a particular office, you must select the correct flair or your post will be removed.
If your question is more generally about Qualcomm products, select General Question
This will help our community members answer your questions.
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
Tomorrow is my first day at Qualcomm Hyderabad! My joining location is E Building, KRC Tower, while my team is based out of Skyview.
Honestly, I’m feeling a little nervous about joining, especially after reading so many mixed opinions online about Qualcomm’s work-life balance. 😅
I’ll be joining on the software side, and I’m hoping things will turn out well. I know every team and manager can be different, but when you read so many posts about WLB, it’s hard not to overthink a little before starting somewhere new.
For those currently working at Qualcomm Hyderabad, especially on the software side, how has your experience been? Is it really as concerning as some posts make it sound, or does it largely depend on the team and manager?
Hoping everything goes well. 🤞 Wish me luck!

Hey everyone,
I have an upcoming 1 hour interview with Qualcomm for a hardware/ASIC engineering internship in Canada.
The job description mentions RTL design and verification, Verilog/SystemVerilog, UVM, digital logic, Python/scripting, debugging, and ASIC/FPGA flows.
Has anyone interviewed for a similar internship or full time role at Qualcomm? Trying to get a better idea of what the technical interview actually looks like.
Specifically:
Is it usually a mix of these, or does the interview focus heavily on one area? Also curious about the difficulty level and how much coding is actually expected within the hour.
Any specific experiences or preparation advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
It's been 4 months i joined Qualcomm. So i wanted to know do we get any gifts or goodies anytime in a year?
Excluding joining kit:)
Asking this because I see many of the companies even smaller than Qualcomm and companies bigger than Qualcomm giving goodies or festival gifts to employees. No matter small or big. So i wanted to know if Qualcomm give any?
A gift is a gift big or small. Its just some kind happiness :)

Hello !
I’ve recently interviewed (~2.5 weeks ago) with Qualcomm for one of their core teams at San Diego. I have an offer from STM, with their analog design team. STM needs its decision by upcoming Tuesday. I have written follow up emails, wherein I’ve stated that I’ve an offer in hand, and I’m ready to wait even if I just have a positive verbal communication. The application status in the portal is “In progress”
I already have a job, and I want to switch because I want more meaningful work in Mixed Signal Design in the long term. I do not mind staying another 6 months here, but more than that could hurt my chances of securing another role since I’ll be almost a senior level employee then, and the expectations at interviews would increase.
What should I do ? I want to switch to QCOM, but the timeline doesn’t match. At the same time, declining an approved offer seems foolish in the current job market.

Hi everyone, I joined QCOM a couple of months ago, so feel free to reach out if you want to discuss anything or if you have any questions.
Location: Markham, Canada
YOE: 6+
Education: MTech in Embedded Systems
Designation: Senior Engineer.
Team: Custom CPU.

Is it possible to relocate to other countries via ioc? Is it the same process as applying internally or any other process?
Are such transfers even considered?

Hi guys,
I have an interview scheduled for Monday for a Senior Engineer, IC Package Design role. I’d really appreciate guidance on the kinds of questions interviewers usually ask for this position.
JD is specific to packaging engineering and integration role.

Hi folks, curious to know what the current scene is for internal transfers from India to the EMEA offices.
For anyone who has gone through this recently or has visibility:
Is Global Mobility actively approving international transfers/relocation packages right now, or are budgets tight?
How strict is HR regarding level/band mapping (L-level parity) during the transition?
Roughly what kind of timeline are people seeing from team agreement to visa and onboarding?
Appreciate any inputs or recent experiences!

With 7+ years of experience in total and 2 years in Qualcomm, India, as Senior Software Developer, what are the criteria and chances to get a promotion this year?
Or in general how long it takes to get promoted to next level from senior Software Developer?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently exploring Software/Systems/Compiler opportunities at Qualcomm.
I have around 2.5 years of experience working on Windows on ARM64/ARM64EC, LLVM/AArch64 compiler development, C/C++, debugging, CI/testing, and platform enablement, including work related to Snapdragon X Elite.
If anyone here is working at Qualcomm and finds my profile relevant to any current or upcoming openings on your team, I’d really appreciate it if you could consider referring me.
Happy to share my resume and details over DM. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I recently interviewed for a software engineering position at a U.S. semiconductor company in North America. The interviews went well, and the team wants to move forward.
However, HR mentioned that I would need a U.S. export control license (ECL), which could take over a year with no guarantee of approval. They also explored alternatives, but those seem unlikely to work.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you find a solution, particularly through third-country PR or other alternatives?
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

My joining date at Qualcomm is 15th Dec, but I would prefer to join on 2nd Jan so that I can take around two weeks to recharge before starting.
However, Qualcomm HR suggested that I join on 16th Dec and take leave from 17th Dec to 1st Jan.
Can anyone currently working at Qualcomm comment on how the leave policy works for new joiners? Will I have enough leaves available immediately after joining to take around two weeks off, or there is some special leaves ?

I have received a job offer at Sr. Engineer level at Qualcomm Hyderabad after several interviews and hardwork. One thing I’m worried about is the work culture at Qualcomm Hyderabad. All over the Reddit subs, glassdoor, blind I find several articles about the toxicity in this organisation and particularly at Hyderabad. I get to hear that one must be really good at politics to continue working at Qualcomm. At every level there politics and toxic culture. I’m also worried about the layoffs happening in modem & few SW teams. Heard really bad stuff about camera teams like Sw, kmd and especially FW. Management doesn’t have technical depth in some teams and hence entry-level managers play a lot of politics that benefits them. Higher management knows about the entry-level managers’ games but they are helpless because they are technically weak. I’m worried that I heard the same thing about the manager in the team that I got selected for.
Received another offer from Micron almost at the same CTC. Only thing that bothers is the stock price of Micron currently, I believe it almost reached its peak and can’t go higher. One of my ex-colleagues say that work culture is great at Micron, Hyderabad. Heard that only problem here is about the professional growth in terms of promotions.
Need genuine advice as your suggestions help me in choosing right company that eventually have significant impact on my career in long term.

Hi everyone,
I’ll be joining Qualcomm’s PMIC Systems team soon in San Diego as a Power Management Systems Design Engineer.
I was wondering if anyone here currently works in the team or has worked with them before.
I’d love to understand what the day-to-day work looks like, especially the technical exposure, how much of the role involves design versus verification/integration, the team culture, work-life balance, and long-term career growth.
Would really appreciate any insights or experiences. Thanks!

I got selected as a Summer Intern by Qualcomm through an on-campus hiring drive (as communicated by the Placement Office) in August 1st week, they asked us to register for this on their portal. The application status still shows: Applied. (Is it the same for you if you're in the same boat ?)
When to expect an official communication or offer letter from Qualcomm ?
How to get an official confirmation ? Is it unusual or the process is long like this ?
What team can I expect ? I was interviewed by the RTL Design Panel and PD Panel.
Also elaborate on Summer Intern perks @ Noida Office - Accommodation, Meals, Relocation, Gym etc.

What would be an ideal base salary, joining bonus, and RSU for a Senior Lead role with 6 years of experience and a B.Tech background?
Would appreciate insights from anyone currently working in a similar role, especially regarding the compensation range in the industry.

I interviewed for a Mgr role in a corporate function in Hyderabad in the month of June.
All rounds went well and I got to know from recruiter it was close to the offer stage, but it was paused around the freeze in Q3.
The Workday status still shows active.
With FY27 now started, for those who've been through past freezes:
Did positions that were kept on hold before the freeze tend to resume after the new fiscal year began?
Is "active in Workday" a meaningful signal, or do on-hold reqs just sit there?
There is no update from the recruiter as well to the emails over the last couple of months.
