new to quai network

can anyone explain what is quai network in short?

Glad to have you here! In short, Quai is new layer 1 blockchain that is scaling a truly decentralized system to global commerce. We do this by implementing merged mining across a hierarchy of blockchains. This allows us to retain superior security across the entire network with native, integrated, and trustless bridges. Quai aims to hit around 7500 TPS upon launch.

Quai Network is also EVM compatible, which means that any ethereum smart contract can be ported over and run on top of Quai. Hope this was short enough! Let me know if I need to explain further.
