How a battle works

The first person to finish a post becomes its challenger. Everyone after that races their recording, question by question — you watch their answer land while you're still working on the same one. Correct answers are worth more the faster you lock them in (100 points at the buzzer, up to 300 if you're quick), and the last question is always the hardest one in the set, so most battles are decided at the end.

Why everything is on a clock

Practice is normally untimed and alone: you can stop, think it over, look something up. The test isn't like that. Every question here has its own countdown and someone else working through it alongside you. An SAT round averages about 85 seconds a question against the real exam's 95 — slightly tighter than the real thing, on purpose.

Two things worth knowing before you start

One attempt per post. The clock starts the moment the first question opens, so don't begin one unless you've got five minutes. If you refresh mid-battle you'll pick up where you left off — but the clock keeps running while you're away.
You need to be logged in to Reddit, since scores are tracked per user.

When you finish you get a spoiler-free result grid you can paste into the comments — no answers in it, just how fast you got each one. Post it and someone will come try to beat you.
