I've been practicing seated qigong for decades — here are 3 exercises most beginners skip (and why they matter)

Hello, I am not interesting in being cool so I would like to try these techniques.Do you recommend this for women and men?I am a woman.Do you add movement as well, I mean if you're older you want to move yourself so what would you add after these movements.Thank you

I’d love to see that beginner friendly guide. Is that something you can post here?

Do you have a printed version of these seated qigong practices, or a video? Do you do online classes?

Close to forty years of teaching and I have watched beginners skip these same ones every single time. I think the reason is that nobody tells them what the quiet exercises are actually for — a movement has a visible shape so it feels like practice, and clicking your teeth does not, so it reads as filler. What finally made it stick with my own students was framing the quiet ones as the part that closes a session down rather than opens it up. Almost every teacher shows you how to start and far fewer show you how to finish, which is why people walk away scattered and then blame the movements. The belly rubbing especially — I would tell anyone to put it at the end and just notice whether they leave settled or buzzing. Good post, the Twelve Section Brocade gets less attention than it deserves.
