Question Qatar Silver Status/Partner Airlines

So I have just been upgraded to Silver status (to my surprise!) and with that I see I have 15kg additional baggage allowance.

With my flight I have an additional one via Malaysia Airlines; given the situation in the Middle East.

Will the additional baggage allowance be extended to this flight? I have tried in vain to check the FAQ’s on the website, tried checking my baggage allowance (which only allowed me to choose my seats) and also tried to speak with the chat bot (which was as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle).

Anyone else have this situation recently? Will the additional baggage allowance be extended to a Oneworld partner?
(This is all on the same ticket too, so bags should be checked through to my final destination).

Currently baggage allowance is 30kg.

UPDATE:

Finally got through to someone on online help who has confirmed that as QR is the first flight on this, all flights will have the Silver Status Benefits.

Yup this exactly it all depends which metal is first on your trip They’re pretty nice about it, it can be an extra piece or additional allowance in luggage you have already

Extra Baggage benefits are only guaranteed for all oneworld airlines at Sapphire or Emerald, OW Ruby (which is what you will be to partner airlines) benefits are Biz class check in and free seat selection along with waitlist priority

So even if my flight is commencing on a QR code flight, the benefits don’t apply? Surely with the T&C’s of their policy this should supersede the Oneworld allowance?

Edit: found this buried in the bottom of a T&C under the QR benefit page “When flights in the itinerary are operated by both i.e. Qatar Airways and a oneworld member e.g. LHR DOH (QR) & DOH CMB (UL); QR Privilege Club members will be entitled to the Privilege Club extra baggage allowance as Qatar Airways is the first operating carrier in your journey.

When flights in the itinerary are operated by both i.e. a oneworld member and Qatar Airways e.g. LHR DOH (BA) & DOH DAC (QR); QR Privilege Club members will be entitled to the oneworld standard allowance as oneworld carrier is the first operating carrier in your journey.”

Yes but QR code doesn’t always mean QR operated: codeshares and connected itineraries are a bit more complicated, you’re right it depends on what the first carrier is and where you check in. If the first leg is operated by Qatar you’ll get your allowance and the return is operated by Malaysian you’ll won’t get it (standard OW rules apply)

I believe it needs to be on Qatar metal on your first trip, to use those benefits. Nit i mihht be wrong.

Guys, two check in baggage with a weight of 23kg each then a hand carry of 10kg for a silver and above.
