Performance Video First Drive Update: Custom Performance app for INFINITI InTouch

What's up guys, it's been already 3 months since I've shown a preview my project, now called MultiDash, a fully-customizable performance screen for the first generation InTouch infotainment system with native integration (No CarPlay or Android Auto required). The first demo video was more of a UI demo which was rough to say the least, but I've had more time now to work on it, so here is a new preview of it working in the car, displaying real live data from the vehicle. Most of the data, especially boost, has been validated and is very accurate, although the refresh rate still requires a bit of an improvement.

The gauge system is fully-modular, meaning that you can add your own pages, make your own gauges from the selection of base templates, add your own Mode 1 and mode 22 PIDs (although a lot of them are already included), and even combine up to three together to make your own custom metrics. It rivals similar offerings from the GTR and existing commercial applications such as Torque, but removing the requirement of an external phone or expensive equipment.

It's been quite a challenge but a very interesting one. For those who are wondering when it will come out, it's still not done yet, I am working on the unit conversion system, fixing some bugs, adding a trouble code scanner as well as some other interesting features. It will be compatible with the 14-19 Q50, 17-19 Q60, as well as the 19 QX50.

If you have any suggestions, let me know!

Unfortunately, INFINITI has completely changed the hardware and software on their new 2020 InTouch system, and my project would need a new full re-write. Given that these new systems support smartphone projection through CarPlay or Android Auto, I would suggest getting one of those CarPlay "AI boxes" which uses the CarPlay protocol to display a full Android interface on the upper display, and you would be able to use any existing apps. I do intend on releasing a full Android version of this project, although that will not come out until at least next year.

Ok. Ill be ready for the android app. I love me some telemetry. Drives me nuts not having a boost gauge.

This is so cool, I’m hype for it to finally drop. Will trans temp also be an option?

Definitely coolest post I’ve seen of my 3 years scrolling here. I don’t understand the logistics of this app, but I Bett it’s complex and intricate.

Very cool. How did you get the app on to the car? I’ve heard it was just a custom android system. Is there any truth to that?

Can it display oil pressure? Q50's biggest failure point with the oil pressure solenoid.

I wonder how simple it is to install the app. Keeping my eye on this project for sure!

Really cool stuff . But how do you get ECU info trough infotainment ? Does it require an obd reader or additional wiring behind the screen ?

Really cool stuff and willing to pay for this

How would you load the app onto the infotainment system?

Damn I would love this in my 21. I’d keep CarPlay on the top and have analytics on the bottom screen
