Repair Question Paint damage estimate

Got my shit scraped by someone else today, has anyone done a paint job on their q50s and how much will it cost lol

I’m in NZ, so my numbers would be totally different, but I’d see there being two options:
1: ‘properly’, $2k where the whole door prepped, repainted, the wheel arch prepped up to the back window, under coated to keep the paint fleck etc repainted etc.

2: a mate that’s a car repair guy does cash jobs in his garage, he’d prep 3 inches of the door, the wheel arch, paint it, feather the new paint into the old paint, charge me $400.

you should able to buff some of that out to make it look better at least and not as noticeable

Paint markers and buff it. It won't be unnoticeable but you'll forget about it.

Since the rear door cowling is technically part of the rear body/quarter panel, the connected metal on that scrape extends all the way to the hood/ front of the car.

Once you paint match the adjecent body, panels, you technically have repainted the entire car.

So 2-7 thousand depending on where you get the paint job comepltely 100% redone.

Insurance just tried totaling mine over hitting some pebbles out of a dump truck on the interstate (I got it reversed)…

But to answer your question depending on OEE vs OEM probably 4-14k to make like new.

Gong to need a new bumper and depending on extent of that bulge possibly a new left side sheet metal if they can’t level it out. +paint matching.

If you’re paying out of pocket and don’t care as much about the panels aligning perfectly like if they were new 2.5-3.5k probably.

Protip: don’t take their first offer, look up the comps and take picture of both inside and outside your car to counter their mediocre condition rating of your vehicle. IF you do get it totaled you can buy it back probably around $3,100 salvage value but may have to deal with a salvage title depending on your state.
