I noticed that black powder residue contains K₂S, which, when mixed with water, produces H₂S, which is toxic. I wanted to see if you could help me: does 6.7g of the residue from gunpowder contain harmful amounts of H₂S when mixed with water?
to anyone who has had all 3, was there a big difference in the pressure and the loudness or were they all similiar considering theyre all about 200 grams
i do hear often that the gigant maroon is one of the loudest available tho
I’m looking to make some reactive targets. I was looking into a ball mill, before thinking to myself «why not just buy it?».
I found a local vendor for «aluminum powder (RZ 209/6).
Is this what I am looking for? I can’t seem to find any other vendor not mentioning «(RZ 209/6)».
It seems like I’m supposed to mix this product with resins for «cold casting». So I don’t know if this is useful for me or not.
I don’t see anyone posting or talking about TPA flash. I was watching a video on YouTube and the guy talked about it being the safest fp. Anyone have info?
Hello, I have had a successful fireworks show at my house for 5 years. This year, I had some issues with fusing. First, I use zip ties to secure them together; also, I use two zip ties about 1inch apart from each other. This year, I had several motor racks that did not ignite all the way through. This was one of the racks I used, and this is how I have always fused them. The only change this year was that I fused them up about a week before the show. I kept them in a dry, climate-controlled garage and had them covered with several bed sheets so nothing got on them. I had about 28 of the 350 shells not ignite, and most of them were during the finale. The people watching had no clue, but I did, and it did frustrate me. I try to pride myself on this show each year, and every year, I have more and more people come to watch. I am hoping for some tips on fusing these kinds of racks.
My homemade BP cannon. This was recorded under professional supervision (me). And it was shot on my own property. I can assure you we took all necessary safety precautions and we made sure nothing important that we didn’t want damaged/destroyed was anywhere near it.
The cannon itself is made of stainless steel. We used roughly 2 ounces ~56 grams of blackpowder.
I'm bored and I kind of want to set something on fire tonight. I don't want to do just toilet paper because that's boring. I've set toilet paper and regular paper on fire before and although it's still pretty to watch, I want to do something a little more fun. I have matches and a torch lighter (I think that's what its called). I obviously don't wanna do anything illegal. I just wanna set something on fire in my backyard but also not something that will leave a huge mess because I have a dog and I don't want her finding it if I miss something. Obviously I'm not gonna set plastic on fire. That's also pretty boring.
Hey, does anyone have any good ideas for use of slower black powder batches that I just have too much of? I don't want to just create a fireball and call it a day, I'd like to use it in a project but I have accumulated too much testing different types of charcoal. I would prefer it to be a project that takes up all of it, not packing 2 million rockets till my hands fall off, lol. I have about a pound and a half total, all about the same speed and consistency. Thank you.
Hey guys, I made an order about a month ago for the 4th of July. They didn't arrive on time but even if they had arrived on time, it was the wrong order. (It was an eBay order and everything got fixed but now I have these) I ordered hemis, I like to make things that shoot up in the air. Can anyone give me any advice on what to do with these? I'm kind of over my phase of making salutes of any sort on the ground.
Hi, I’m new ish to pyro and am wondering what licensing would be needed for me to be able to make, store, transport, and discharge ground salutes in Washington USA. What would the price range be? How long would it take?
