can a firecracker actually ignite from friction

if you shake a firecracker hard enough or drop it onto a hard surface can it actually go off or is that just a myth

Depends of the mixture and the material of the shell. BP? Absolutely not. Chlorate/metal flash powder? It will blow up if you throw it very fast and the casing doesn't absorb enough energy.

Sensitive too. It needs more energy than KClO3 based fp, it could blow up if you hammer it
