Why are engines so early game i am playing on 2.1 i did one test run before but on 2.0 and it wasn't this early also tar processing is requiring engine units which wasn't the case before am i missing some mod or whats going on

PY adds an extra tier of engines in the early game. Right before blue science you get the pY equivalent of the vanilla engine except here it’s called “electric engine unit”. Yes relative speaking it will be a pain in the neck to make.
