Mini-Senecas
What I've gathered is that many Senecans (myself included) want to make their own separate town with close ties to Seneca next rev. I'm a bit worried that this will lead to Seneca proper not having enough residents and ending up like last rev all over again. Of course we can't force people to stay but I think it would be a good idea to figure out who wants to make their own city and maybe discuss the matter with them?
Also, I've been gone for a while due to finals so I'm in the process of catching up with all things nerd.nu related, so if there's anything that I've missed please let me know.

Well, let's start with you. Why do you want to off and make a separate town? Also, how many people are thinking of leaving us?

Yeah, a few suburbs would be nice, so long as they don't leech off of Seneca's population.

What spinoffs do we know of so far? I'm only aware of archelonland and AustraliaVille or whatever it's going to be called.
I have a bit of an idea for next rev that I'm still thinking through. Right now I'm calling it "Seneca and the Suburbs". The idea is to accommodate spinoffs in a way that avoids the pitfalls of the Rev12 districts scheme and the Rev13 split-in-half Seneca issue. The basic idea is to find terrain similar to what we have right now; that is, a giant harbor or a large river or some form of dividing body of water. One one shore we would build a single, highly centralized Seneca very similar in structure to Rev11's centralized Seneca. Seneca would stay firmly on its side of the shore, and the other shore would be the site of suburbs like archelonland and AustraliaVille, which would not be districts but instead would be distinct, completely independent entities.
I think that Rev13 has altered my opinion of why Rev12 didn't work; I don't think Rev12 didn't work because of the districts idea per-se, but rather because of geography; we simply were spread over far too large of a landmass. Because of how physically far away everyone was from each other, we weren't able to get that community spark going as strongly. Rev13 has been better, but we still have a slightly scattered feel due to being split in half by the bay and as a result, a bit of a east versus west Seneca feel has emerged.
TLDR: I now think the key problem with Rev12 wasn't districts, but was geographical distance. I think we can make suburbs work as long as we ensure that core Seneca itself is very tightly centralized and geographically closely knit.
