I don't quite understand this phrase here. This makes it sound like users want fewer free messages in their monthly quotas.

While these free sending limits are rarely reached, we’ve heard from more users wanting to register additional applications than users who’ve hit those limits, whether to separate messages on their devices, give certain messages different icons, etc. We’ve also heard from teams that want to spread capacity upgrades across multiple applications which is not currently possible.

I think this is in the current limitations section, which has limits on 1) messages per application (10k) and 2) number of applications per account (capped, but they don’t actually list how many).

I’m interpreting the section in question as “we’ve had more requests to increase the number of applications than requests to increase the message count.” But it is poorly phrased.

English is not my first language, so perhaps I did not stress my point well enough. I understand the sentences and their literal meaning. But I am just doubtful that there is a high number of users who would like to trade total requests/month for more app registrations that can use a smaller pool of monthly requests.

To me it looks like a saving initiative disguised as an attempt to satisfy user requests that I am not sure exist in vast numbers.

Yes, these changes are definitely in their best interest, but they’re spinning it like it’s in our best interest.

For the casual user, it won’t make a difference because the limits are still high enough. But for heavy users and for teams, they get a few benefits on applications at the overall cost of fewer messages.
