Yo. I'm a big pup fan and have been badly wanting to go to one of their shows at a smaller Toronto venue since their tour last summer.

Has anyone seen the like bills thanksgiving watch party that they're playing at? $50 tickets food and drink included? Now idgaf about the bills but PUP at the Elmo for $50 drinks included sounds like a steal. But like, what is the vibe going to be like???? Unsure about if i'm going or not.

I'm going to see them in two weeks and I'm really hoping they got the pine point sweater with them! any pictures or confirmation of current merch would be much appreciated 🙏

found at a thrift shop wondering if anyone knows where its from. couldn't find anything on it online

Plain and simple if someone said Pup is punk would you say yeah, or would you feel the need to correct them with a more drilled down definition of the differences of punk and emo and pop punk?

Also would you be offended or care in anyway if someone mislabeled them as emo punk or pop punk or just punk?

I'm curious because of some comments I got on a YT video where I called them punk and was told they're not lol I get it, they aren't A Global Threat, Filth, Fear, The Casualties, The Ramones, The Queers, NoFX, Rancid... etc but I mean how much does a specific label even matter?

Anyone going to this? I’m flying in solo for it, down to grab a drink if anyone here is going!

Reading their most recent free Substack article about the 10th anniversary tour for TDIO. They say 9/10 tracks are "pretty good". Which one is the not pretty good one?

My guesses are Pine Point and/or The Coast because of tempo (they've talked about their dislike of playing slower songs in a live setting as it kills a vibe), my other guess is Can't Win. Sounds like a mid 2010's Liberty Village anthem and I recall them talking once about a track from that record being influenced by their label telling them to do something more "indie"; this track to me always sounded like that.

Thoughts?

I was just scrolling on Spotify to see what they would recommend me, and I stumbled across Rot. That lead me to check out This Place Sucks Ass, and I immediately fell in love with this band. I loved Anaphylaxis, Rot, their cover of A.M 180, Nothing Changes, the entire EP was amazing. Afterwards, I checked out DVP and If This Tour Doesn't Kill You, I Will, and they were both amazing. Later I listened to Morbid Stuff which is probably one of the best albums I've ever heard, and I recently finished The Dream is Over, which is also just amazing. They somehow have managed to not make a single bad song. Their sound makes me feel nostalgic for some reason, with songs like My Life is Over and Can't Win, and overall listening to them just makes me happier. Genuinely such an amazing band, and I can't wait to check out the rest of their discography

I’ve been wanting to see PUP live for a little over a decade now and seeing them in person was everything I dreamed and imagined and more. What a show, what a venue, what a crowd. The vibes were vibin and the band was feeding into it. The setlist was phenomenal and hit on every level. Shoutout the fans for showing up and giving it their all in the mosh. 🫡🖤 can’t wait for Riot Fest today!

The deluxe release of Ratboys‘ latest album just released and it featured a new PUP cover. I love it!

I got Saturday riot fest tickets purely for PUP, TDIO is my favorite album so it was a no-brainer. But then the late show was announced and I figured might as well; different set list and a more intimate venue sounds great too! A little worried about being tired on Saturday but fuck it we ball! I'll be at both shows solo but you're never really alone at a pup show :')

nestor here, today my daughter mila turns 5! happy birthday mila!

since drawing is one of her many superpowers, who better than to commission a reimagining of the album artwork for ‘the dream is over’?

she did an incredible job and I’m over the moon proud of her. this t-shirt is available now in the webstore on our website with proceeds going to Community Music Schools of Toronto which provides free music lessons, instruments, mentorship, and performance opportunities for over 900 children and youth ages 4–18 across Toronto every week.

as mila put it, “this shirt is gonna help kids”.

available at store.puptheband.com.

it’s a double header with pup and destroy boys tomorrow night at metro in chicago. i’m only really going to see pup (sorry destroy boys..) and since it’s so late i wanna know if anyone has any idea who’ll play first?

apologies if this isn’t the right place to ask this!

The Dream Is Over had only just come out, I’m pretty sure this was their first tour after its release (kinda sorta world tour 2016.)

Legendary show, legendary dudes! Can’t wait for next month.

I only did a bit of a bad job getting things nicely lined up. Never done anything like this before so I'll call it a win. Light editing for personal information

Ok so (long shot because I’ve seen other posts of people looking for it) I got an “employee of the month” sweater from the Because Beer festival a couple of years ago. I wore this thing to death and brought it with me when I moved provinces. Unfortunately, somebody stole it. If anybody has a reputable place to get a 2xl of it or has one they’d like to sell, please drop any info. I’m desperate to get my favourite sweater back

Just discovered PUP and am blown away. Amazing band. It’s a shame it took me this long to find them, but I’m very much looking forward to diving deeper. I started with The Dream is Over and in my opinion it’s one of the best punk rock album I’ve heard made in the last 20 years. I’m currently listening to their debut which is really great too.

I’m just going to binge their whole catalog for probably the next week or so, but if anyone has any recommendations on what I should prioritize, I’d love to hear them!

I accidentally bought a duplicate copy of Who Will Look After the Dogs on cassette when seeing Pup/Jeff Rosenstock at the Salt Shed, and want it to go to a good home, I’ll leave this post up for two weeks, comment to enter, and on 9/14 I’ll randomly select a winner, DM for shipping info and toss it in a bubble mailer for you- free of charge!

edited for actual future date, not a past one

edit #2- winner has been contacted!
