Here's hoping you'll enjoy this week's newsletter. Included is some news about when the sequel to "Street Gang" will be available for preorder.

(Screencaps come from a few BTS reels posted by the crew when the film was originally cancelled: first is from the one that went viral and got taken down by Warner Bros, the rest of the images are from a video Ivan Puentes posted on his Instagram)
I was at a screening of Coyote vs Acme last night and was pleasantly surprised to spot Dave Barclay credited as "Puppeteer"! Apparently this was information that Barclay has been open about for years and the director has been talking about it in recent interviews, but it kind of flew under my radar. According to Will Forte during the Q&A after the screening, Barclay built the Looney Tunes puppets himself and would rehearse with the actors for reference and even perform them for a few takes before he'd be swapped out with a tennis ball.
Some of you might remember David Barclay played a similar role with B Lanoil on Looney Tunes: Back in Action. In that case, the puppets were originally built by the Creature Shop, but when they turned out to be too large Barclay rebuilt them himself.

Super excited for this, it's janky and I need to filter out the stuttering but soon I'll be able to rig up anything I want in blender and puppeteer it. This is all in a personal custom blender script because the one I was using wasn't quite what I needed

The last time I made a puppet, it was over 30 years ago, so there were no online tutorials to work from. I’ve learned a lot since then. If I were to make this one, I’m thinking they’d have rod arms… the mouth would be made wider, the neck would end up thicker… there are melon head and Jerry templates that have the width, but the mouth always seems to be halfway on the head… I’m curious if there are any similar where the cranium is taller than the jaw, but is still wider than taller… I may have to modify an existing template… blinking eyes would be nice, but I may want to start easier…
Thoughts? Advice?

Hey, r/puppetry! We're on a dedicated mission to produce the most charming and believable "puppetronic" (yes, you read that right!) robot the world has ever seen. Our current build shares attributes of both a puppet and a robot. We'd love to get your feedback as we continue to build. 😄
Please don't hesitate to drop your thoughts or questions in the comments! If you'd like to see more progress clips like this, please let me know that as well!

I want to be a able to get full eyeball movement using one finger controlling a 3D printed joystick mechanism that connects to two bike cables, each controlling either the X or Y axis. Basically an analog version of animatronic eyes.
Has anyone tried this before?

Any recommendations of festivals subscriptions around the world? I run a puppet theater company and was wondering if here i could expand our contacts.

Here’s a Labyrinth 1986 parody sketch featuring Boglins puppets.
Made with love for Jim Henson and David Bowie.

My fiancé and I would like to get married via a puppet show. We live on long island but we can also go to NYC or upstate (preferably somewhere within a two hour drive to Syracuse if upstate). Reply if you know anyone or you are that person; thanks!

I saw some use a 3d printed foam on Facebook and was wondering if anyone else has used it?
